Just beautiful; I want to stay in Ryokans as much as possible when I finally get to Japan. I have a serious back problem with a few fractures that will never heal and I've always been worried about sleeping on anything other than an actual bed with mattress, western style. I see I don't have to worry because that futon looked so incredibly comfortable. The food, the Ryokan, the scenery just took my breath away. 😊
I remember almost booking this hotel, but ultimately opting out because of the price and distance from the city centre. I wish I followed through 😔 I ended up booking the Onyado Toho instead, which is in Higashiyama near the same city. It was still incredible - beautiful panoramic baths at a high floor!

Wow, hai visitato Aizu e Ouchi-juku! Spero, fra qualche anno, appena possibile, di pernottare un paio di settimane prima a Nikko e poi ad Aizu. Nikko è stupenda ed Aizu sembra molto interessante. Io poi sono appassionata del Bakumatsu, della Shinsengumi e dei samurai. Per quelli come me, Aizu è una tappa da non perdere!
I am always amazed at the variety and creativity (from the perspective of an American) of Japanese food. There seems to be so many regional and seasonal foods. America doesn't really believe in that kind of thing.
This hotel is actually the inspiration for part of Demon Slayer. So, inspiration comes from any parts of Japan for any creators that did the manga’s. It’s the same way that most locations for certain books has real world locations too. And, it’s how we make it work too.
