As a s trucker myself I find myself starting to drive at 4 am in order for me to be able to shut down early enough to get parking a truck stop.

Very easy for states to supply adequate truck parking, they just won't, they don't care. You are on your own.

Parking on an Interstate entrance or exit ramp is illegal in Arkansas and carries a $500 fine. I teamed for 19 of the 21 years I drove truck so parking was never an issue. The 2 years I ran solo I started driving a midnight and shut down before noon. There are ALWAYS parking places everywhere at that time of day and no waiting lines for showers.

Stop leaving piss bottles and other trash on ramps. If ramps stayed clean the no parking signs would probably go away.

The fmcsa is to blame for all this problem with its absurd laws #1 electronic book does not give you time to look for a truck stop that has parking capacity, which is difficult #2 if you spend an hour looking for parking, the DOT fines you for about passing the schedule to where they are going to take us, we can no longer with the price of diesel plus the theft from the brokers and finally the insurance companies have become millionaires every week the insurances raise their prices and the government does nothing to save the industry

Paper logs don't give you time to look either; nothing has changed you still have the same about of HOS you did on paper logs as you do on ELDs.
Don't blame the brokers the national average rate for a broker is 12 to 15%; they have over head too and now more and more shippers require them to carry the same cargo insurance coverage carriers have even though they are not legally responsible for the loads they book. The shippers set the rates not the brokers; sometimes they can negotiate a higher rate but not always. The big issue is with these so called "Independent Dispatch" services that are illegally acting as Brokers with out the authority or insurances or bond required of Brokers. They have no over head so they can undercut brokers further driving the rates down and shippers know they can book a load with a dispatcher for less then a Broker so they offer less for the loads. These Dispatchers are abusing the bona fide agent rule and piggy backing off carriers authorities to post to load boards; often double brokering loads.

There a lot of things that contribute to this; in Biden's IIJA act there was ear marked funding for the construction of additional truck parking along our national highways; this was stripped from the bill by clueless democrats in favor of pointless and worthless "social" projects that have nothing to do with Interstate Infrastructure and useless woke programs like the study of homosexuality in animals in foreign countries or arts programs that have nothing to do with our national infrastructure.
Other issues in recent years are the greed of national chain truck stops that have gone 75% or more paid parking. in Las Vegas the TA off I-15 on Dean Martin Rd has 144 truck parking spots that is at least 120 paid parking now. Sometimes; under the current administrations failed policies called Bidenomics drivers are forced to choose between a shower and a hot meal after driving 11 hours and risking a several hundred dollar parking ticket or paying for a parking space. I've been to truck stops that are 100% pay to park. Years ago at a Pilot in GA I had a Security Guard pull his gun on me when I refused to vacate a parking spot I had pulled into that was not marked as paid parking to take my mandatory 30 minuet brake. I parked rather then be the idiot camped out on the fuel island preventing other drivers from fueling. The Police refused to do anything about it and by time they got there I was getting ready to continue on my way!
If you book a space and pay for a space a head of time at a national chain any where in the US where you know you will be stopping for your 10 hour brake; as required by Federal law, there is a good chance when you get there there won't be any open spaces because either the property is super greedy and over sold the available parking or an ignorant driver decided to take the spot you paid for with out themselves paying simply because they didn't plan a head.
Sometimes you are detained at a shipper or receiver for hours waiting to load or unload and eat up your clock; then they refuse to allow you to park on their property even though Federal Law says they can not force a driver to violate laws like the Hours of Service (HOS) rules that says a driver may only drive for 11 hours and work 14 hours in a day combined before they are required to stop and take a 10 hour break and after they have driven 70 hours in a week they must stop for a 34 hour break before driving again. Now that; a driver has 30 minuets left to legally drive for the reset of the day and the nearest truck stop or rest area is 90 minuets away. They have no choice but to stop on a ramp to take their mandatory brake only to be ticketed by the city or state even though a state can not pass laws that supersede Federal Laws.
There have been many cases where a state passed a regulation on trucking that has been over turned by the court as trucking is regulated by the federal government under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and out of the reach of state regulators. Case in point when PA passed a law requiring coil haulers to obtain special permits and training from the state to haul steel coils. The courts tossed it out as it superseded FMCSA regulations.

If you need $8 million to build these, you have no clue how to build it. Let the professionals build this who have done it before.
Muftar Corp is well on the way to building these spots out, starting in Georgia and exoanding out from there nationwide.

2:32 / " Truckers can't fudge paperwork anymore " . This is the kind of reporting you get from doofus dumbos. According to the federal motor carrier safety regulations : 395.8 / Drivers record of duty status, subpart (e) / failure to complete the record of duty activities of either this section or 395.15 - 395.16 / failure to preserve a record of such duty activities, or making false reports in connection with such duty activities shall make the driver and or the carrier liable for prosecution. Just get food trucks on open city land. With washrooms. Police can monitor it. 8 million?? More like 400000$ for washrooms and showers.
