WoWWWW!!! What a fantastic race, and what a fabulous performance from Laura Muir, not only to run her opposition into the ground, but to do it in such a dominating style. Technique, attitude, style and pure guts were all a part of this Athletes race. Well Done Laura.
Hassan ran a marathon in Tokyo 5 days ago and flew to compete in 1500m, attempt itself requires an applause, yet she got the third place. Amazing athlete with an unbelievable range.
Happy International Women's Day in sports and more sports partnerships for everybody, young generations deserve to live like champions, fans love youuuuu guys ❤🎉❤
Back when she had a great future (2016). She did accomplish a lot in her subsequent career, but this performance indicated WR potential that was never manifested. Note also that there was perfect pacesetting in this race through 1100M, which the video does not show.
@Gardener7 Could be, but she ran this WL of 3:55.24 at age 24, blowing away an excellent field, so I had high hopes for her future. But she only PR'd in the 1,500m once since (3:54.50 in 2021). That said she has an Olympic Silver and World Championship Bronze, so she's had a great career, just not dominant as she showed potential for on this evening in 2016.
@@gregorypalardy7141 I have also been following her since then. She is a joy to watch. I also hoped she would have run faster. 🏃♀️ You can be sure that she always put in 100% effort. Her defeat by Africans I put down to rampant epo usage over there. I was a documentary on it.
The world record was 3:50 at the time so I'm not sure she showed the potential to run that fast. However you could make the argument that her time was a world record. The only athletes faster than her were either Eastern Europeans in the heyday of the state sponsored drug regimes in the 1980s, the Chinese with their turtle soup in the early 90s and Dibaba who herself was suspected of taking drugs. I agree with you though about Muir. She was the best in the world that year. The rest of her career, despite her medals, was somewhat of a disappointment. Some of the others improved by huge amounts and she stayed still. This won't be a popular opinion but it does seem "interesting" to me that Kipyegon has improved by over seven seconds since then.
the pretty scotish woman in the video was in good shape if she overtook an army of African women and even hassan who we often don’t see in marathons now
Well done Ciara Mageean on coming almost last as usual. I just don't see the point of runners who can't run close to the record. It makes no sense, and yet they make a career of it. Embarrassing
An outstanding performance from Laura Muir.
Congratulations young lady 👏👏👏👏👏
Laura Muir puts everything on the line in this kind of race, so brave! Her family must be immensely proud of her. 👏❤️
She is juicing
@@randyschwaggins She's clearly not jesus
Muir was kicking ass in this race, amazing display of running
Kipyegon has kicked her ass in every major championship
What a fighter, love her grit and determination. Think about her sometimes when I hit the wall and always take inspiration. Well deserved!!

Laura Muir - a great person - so humble and such a talented and committed/dedicated runner - well done Laura
She is great, big fan. She works hard and goes fast. Tough competitor!
Powerhouse of a run. Shame you cut out half the race!
Sad, its like a 4-min race and apparently that is too long
She's very strong, with a blistering finish, very good runner. Her running style is textbook perfect. Very well done.
The race was less than 4 minutes long. The video is just over 5 minutes long. But, they don't show the whole race? Give me a freakin' break.
I wonder why that clip was taken out?
This months ago. Give us a break!
First lap and last lap. That is typical of US coverage, but since the announcer is English I don't know what happened.
If she was English it’s the whole race bloody fools
😢The 3.55 is obviously shown as the race win. The pre-race vid took a minute. I watched this live. It's simple maths Chris.
Yah!! Go, Laura Muir, the Super-Scott!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤!!
Laura Muir, you are a legend. Never give up 🤘🤘👍👍🥳
Great race from Laura ❤
PARIS 2016 DIAMOND LEAGUE 11 days after RIO 2016
Thanks. They kept talking about RIO and not even Tokyo. Muir did not look that good just a few days ago at the 2024 Indoor Championship.
@@joelwillems4081this race was in 2016..
I am very proud of you Laura you absolutely smashed it good work best of luck to Paris xxx❤
Muir just timed it perfectly
That was the key.
She's a gorgeous runner. Here technique is fantastic.

This race is from 8 years ago
@@markhiggins8315 I figured, Hassan looks younger here than she does now... I wasn't even sure if it was Sifan, when I saw the name Hassan here.
Amazing Laura! I'll go find the full highlights elsewhere then!
Why put such an old video years back and make it look as if it just happened. Shame on you.
Kipyegon untouchable now 💕💕🥰🥰
Yip.l wonder why
Great run Laura and a very nice touch by Hassan at the end
bravissima, straordinaria fuoriclasse, lei hai messe tutte in fila
Chebet set that record in 2016. This race is 8 years old. Muir just got smoked indoors, sadly.
Great job 🎉All the athletes were fantastic. Congratulations Laura you did it ❤
Damn!!! 3:55. She was flying out there, watch that ending again, she was literally speeding!! Great victory & time.
Probably the hardest runner over the years I have ever seen a well gutsy, strong runner who "never" puts more than 100% on the track.
Brilliant absolutely brilliant.
WTF, why post an 8 year old race without putting any date on the video - downvoted
greed.
I always loved Muir. Her racing form is so distinguishable...like a prancing pony. But OH! That strength and speed.
“Prancing pony”... that's a good one, very apt, and she's a qualified veterinarian to boot…
Great run Gal...love and hugs
If you can beat Siffan Hassan, you have to have grit and toughness, so well
done Laura Muir.
Wow. Laura you made me cry with joy and pride. 👏🏴🇺🇦
Muir was outstanding in this race, nobody got near her 😮
Happy International Women's Day in sports and more sports partnerships for everybody, young generations deserve to live like champions, fans love youuuuu guys ❤🎉❤
Holy cow what a last 600m. She times it perfectly and was damn strong to the finish.
That is a machine - 😮 Fantastic 😊
Really well done Laura! Why did they edit the race so that you didn’t see Laura going to the front and putting that injection of pace in? 🤷🏻♂️
Strong last lap!!
Well done Laura, you damn well deserve that win Lassie. 👌👌👌

I think she never broke the WR because she stayed clean.

Laura was the best in the world this year. She needs to rediscover that and I really think she can 🙏🏻
If she was the best in the world in this year 2016, how come she was 7th when it mattered in the olympic final.
to win among the top contenders, ....great stuff!
Top Class LMuir 👍🇬🇧🏴
Love her
Pure class
Rowbury turns 40 this year! She was 4th!!! GOOD LORD!!!
Maybe I misinterpreted your comment but this race was in 2016. Rowbury was 31 at the time.
Some runners look like they are floating. Laura always looks like shes working hard. And i admire her for that
This was 8 years ago.
Muir is still there, Kipyegon is, Tsegay, MacGeean...
@@felixlingelbach2758hassan
@@felixlingelbach2758amazing longevity 😊
This must be the only time she has beaten faith ,I can't remember any other time it's happened
What a beautiful runner Laura is. So compact and economical, almost robotic.
Wanda Diamond League needs to find some way of reminding us in which season the races occurred in these historical videos 😐
Cut 2 laps from a 4 lap race, very nice!
Shocking video editing for the race
Just looked up her age. She's 31 - wow, I thought she was about 24.
Strong effort😮
If anyone deserves an Olympic medal it's Laura
WON BY A MILE
nice coverage..but why not post the times????lol
A great British athlete.
That pacer though 👀
100 years ago. Old video
Well done Laura, Paris beckons! 👏
This was years ago. She not in the same form nowadays
Rio? How old is this?
Which year was it
Les gazelles les plus belles du monde. Je vous aime tous.
Why not show the entire 4-minute race?
Hassan told her: Don' t forget we were just training ! Muir Answered : My Goodness !
I'm confused. This is recent? Why isn't she running indoors like the rest of the runners I see on TH-cam recently?
It's 8 yrs old
World record is coming soon by this Scottish lady wow
When, that race was 8 years ago. Since then she have taste kipyegon dust
If Laura Muir believes in herself, she can beat anyone.
Shame we didn’t see the whole race though
Eight years old!
Look out Paris Olympics!! 😲
Go, go, go...
That is how to race.
Why didn't you show the whole race ? Very disappointing !
love track and field. But the video makers suck.
the pretty scotish woman in the video was in good shape if she overtook an army of African women and even hassan who we often don’t see in marathons now
I guess Scotland is in aesthetic trouble.
Terrible video, totally skipped the whole race in exchange for commentary
Tsegay finished last.
Old video.
Peaked a month too late?
OLD LEAGUE. 2024 DONT START TIL APRIL 20 TH

Should pacemakers be allowed in racing? I dont think so
A bunch of flowers, just what you need to be carrying when you’ve run your legs out. Do the men get the same?
