If anyone is thinking of buying this... I’m 6’2” 230~ muscular build (big shoulders/back) XL did NOT fit my shoulders/back... ordered an XXL let’s hope it fits :(
Hi, how does this compare to the T-GP Pro? Apart from the waterproof liner, they seem pretty much the same...does the Pro have higher rated protection? I live in the UK so looking at average riding temps of probably 15deg C from Spring to Fall, with no intentional wet weather riding. Perhaps the Pro is better with direct to body venting for the hotter summer days (around 25 deg C)? Thanks guys
In addition to the direct venting, the T-GP Pro also uses a stronger 600D polyamide construction compared to the 450D polyester construction of the T-GP R WP. Therefore, I recommend the Pro. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-t-gp-pro-textile-jacket
How does this jacket compares to Alpinestars Enforce Drystar? They seem pretty similar. Also, I work the graveyard shift and it gets pretty chilly, will this or the Enforce work for 45f minimum temperatures or should I get something like the Andes v2? Thanks
The Enforce uses a more durable polyamide textile compared to this jacket's polyester, the Enforce Drystar waterproof membrane is more breathable than this jacket's waterproofing. For commuting, you'd probably be ok with these jackets. I don't think you'd need the Andes. I would recommend a neck gaiter and perhaps adding heated grips to your bike. -DrewZilla
Thanks for the answer! I already got a neck gaiter from you guys too, and it's totally worth it. Another question, I found a Dainese Hawker D dry for $299, considering it's usually $399, is it worth it over the enforce if paying $299 for it? The thermal fleece really caught my eye.
Well the Enforce has been discontinued. However, it had slightly more durable textile and a slightly warmer thermal liner. If you find a good deal on the Enforce, I recommend it. If not, the T-GP R WP is still a good option. -DrewZilla
It's just about as warm as the Hawker, but the Hawker is just slightly bulkier due to its waterproof liner being removable and its thermal fleece liner being a standalone layer. I'd go with the Alpinestars. -DrewZilla
The T-GP R WP Textile Jacket is waterproof and has a removable thermal liner, so it is good for cold and wet weather riding. The GP-R Leather Jacket does not have a thermal liner, so it is not as good as the T-GP R WP for the cold. However, the non-perforated GP-R Leather Jacket is better than the perforated GP-R Air Leather Jacket for cold weather. If you want a leather jacket for cold weather, consider the Alpinestars Jaws Leather Jacket. If you want a textile jacket, go with the T-GP R WP Jacket. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-jaws-leather-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-t-gp-r-wp-jacket
I want to buy this jacket from you, including the KR-CiR and the KR-2i, but I'm not sure how much it'll cost me (I'm from Portugal). Could you help me?
Current pricing is listed on the product pages in US Dollars. For complete pricing, you can add all items to your shopping cart, select International Checkout, then see the total cost with shipping. Yes, it's ideal for NorCal weather, as it's waterproof and includes a removable thermal liner. -DrewZilla (www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-t-gp-r-wp-jacket)
With its thermal liner, you can ride down to the upper 40s. You may want to consider installing heated grips if you find your hands getting cold, and be sure to wear a neck gaiter as well. -DrewZilla
You mean in hot weather? Not really. I've been with it in a big traffic jam at around 32°C and I thought I'll die there. Buy something with mesh for the ventilation!
remzi demir A lot of jackets have leather protection, or at least stronger textile, where the impact zones are, but with mesh in the other zones. T-GP R Air for expample.
+Nick Soukas It really comes down to personal preference. For the ~$30 higher price, the T-GP R WP Jacket gets additional shoulder protection with the external shoulder sliders, additional reflectivity, as well as bicep adjusters. Otherwise, they're both waterproof, and both come with removable thermal liners. -DrewZilla
RevZilla Haha! You guys are awesome! Have you thought of doing a "Meet the team" video series where we learn a bit more about you guys? You've definitely become "characters" through the reviews and the online interactions.
Hi Guys, Thank you for all your great gear videos, i always refer to you guys before looking at new gear. You say that this jacket is Sport oriented, how do you think it fits riding a more upright bike, like the Aprilia Shiver 750 ? i like the looks of the jacket and the features, but wont get one if the fit wont be comfortable on my bike. I also find Alpinestars a little tricky to figure out size wise, i'm a Slim/Athletic build and 185cm, any size recommendation ?
This jacket is perfectly fine on the Aprilia Shiver. As for sizing, what is your chest size measured around the fullest part of your chest? Once you have your chest size, we find the size chart to be pretty accurate. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-t-gp-r-wp-jacket#size_chart_tab
Love it! Now if only Alpinestars did their textile jackets in smaller sizes (XS) for us little guys..
And some sliders to the elbows..
What pants and shoes are compatible (looks and function) with this awesome jacket?
If anyone is thinking of buying this... I’m 6’2” 230~ muscular build (big shoulders/back) XL did NOT fit my shoulders/back... ordered an XXL let’s hope it fits :(
This jacket or Enforce drystar jacket. Which one should ı buy it and why ? I want a winter jacket.
Which WP pants would match the jacket? :)
mototastical I'd recommend the AST-1 WP Pants. -DrewZilla

RevZilla Awesome thank you very much.

What are the differences between this one and Alpinestars enforce drystar? And which one do you recommend
Well the Enforce has been discontinued. However, it had slightly more durable textile and a slightly warmer thermal liner. If you find a good deal on the Enforce, I recommend it. If not, the T-GP R WP is still a good option. -DrewZilla

Thanks !!
I want an alpinestars jacket, but I want for more winter use but still that aggressive look? What can u recommend me please revzilla
Been looking at the alpinestars gp-r jacket would it suit for cold purposes over the air?

Yes, the Alux is a waterproof jacket. -DrewZilla

What temps can you take on with this jacket I ride in upper 40's to 50's would like a jacket that can keep me warm in mornings and cooler after work
With its thermal liner, you can ride down to the upper 40s. You may want to consider installing heated grips if you find your hands getting cold, and be sure to wear a neck gaiter as well. -DrewZilla
Right on right on thanks
Can you wear this comfortably with a street fighter/ more upright riding position?
Yes, it's quite comfortable on a street fighter. -DrewZilla
Hi DrewZilla, can you wear a jumper or a pull over hoodie underneath? thanks
azpal Singh it's very tight. would recommend a thermal shirt
Is that jacket weared a summer days ?
You mean in hot weather? Not really. I've been with it in a big traffic jam at around 32°C and I thought I'll die there. Buy something with mesh for the ventilation!

Mesh is super good in hot weather. Take a look at the T-GP R Air jacket. It looks very similar to this.
t gp r wp or t jaws wp(and why)
