    Buddy 2 little advises if I may (I am a Divemaster by the way): the blue “button” that you mention is a purge button, meaning if for any reason water enters the 2nd stage (piece that goes into your mouth) while underwater and you don’t have enough air in your lungs to simply blow and clear it out, you can press the purge valve and air will come-in and clean it for you.
    2nd and more IMPORTANT, although 3m depth isn’t much, you should understand some diving physiology basics (or even better get certified as you live in an amazing place for scuba). If you or your son get a full breath of air and hold it at depth and then surface, because of the effect that pressure has in gas volume, his / your lungs could over expand causing some real injury and painful recovery. I don’t want to go to deep on this on the comments section BUT at least please remember to NEVER hold your breath while using that thing :)
    Big hug.

    Wow what a wonderful device, when I was younger I spent two weeks in Catalina on my sister's sailboat and I would have used this thing to its fullest potential because I was in the water snorkeling all the time. I'm sure you and your son will get good use out of it out there in "Paradise" keep up the good work, you always do a very thorough and interesting job on all your reviews.

    I used to do some diving in the late 90s. I tried a snuba once in the lower keys. It wasn't for me, I tried it but ended up snorkeling that day. This system is much nicer though, smaller simpler. A little pricey but can be fun for your family if you live by water.

    Does the gear keep up with adult demand for air? I am a PADI divemaster, and many people if not relaxed or startled can hyperventilate, thus the gear doesn't allow enough airflow in these instances. At 10 feet, air does not get as compressed, but a panicking person still can bolt to the surface with expanding air. In your opinion, are you satisfied with this product's safety? Just curious.

    • @3000gtwelder
      @3000gtwelder 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what I was thinking, especially for all the people thinking they want a longer hose, or to modify it! I heard anything over 12 feet can be dangerous, without knowing about decompression sickness, and how to decompress properly.

    • @DadRandom
      @DadRandom 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hate to be curmudgeon, just have many years in scuba. DM 60715 looks really cool. Taking deep breath’s at depth and bolting to the surface without training will lead to lung over expansion. 10 feet + as kids will do, add 5 more feet of hose…8 more feet. Now we surface close to 1 atmosphere depth.
      Ok, now price. 900$? Take PADI scuba 🤿 lessons and rent your gear. That may cover the $900. Plus you are now more aware of the risks associated with this. Like drones - 107 ok 👌🏻 now it’s not fun anymore. 😢

We innovate and assemble here in Pompano Beach, Florida, including manufacturing of our own motors built from precision laser-cut stainless steel sourced from a company in Utah, as one example. You wouldn't believe how much our motor's magnets cost!
      We'd love for you to try the system out, let us know if you are ever in South Florida, or come visit us at a boat show. We'll be in Annapolis, MD and Newport Beach, CA coming up very soon. Come check it out!

    That Nemo worked about as perfect as it possibly could! Great item! Could be cheaper, as $999 for something that includes what it does, seems expensive. $200 bucks for an extra 5000mah 4s is like buying a battery from DJI! WHOA! Cuz we can buy that size for easy under $50, more like $35-40, on Banggood. The whole system needs to be more like $500-600 and extra batteries for $75 max. Won't sell many with the price that high! That's the problem anymore... companies think they have something Co0ol, so they price it out of reach for most people, and they fail, or it doesn't sell well, because they asked too much for something that in reality has not much to it! I know what these parts cost and there's not much cost there at all. 😳🙄 Nemo maker, try not making a home run on each sale, but on making it affordable and DOING VOLUME! Sheeesh! 🤔😩

    Looks like a great device, would use with caution though and would never go diving without a knife, folks worrying about decompression at 10 foot know nothing about diving, there is absolutely no issues at this depth, more of a danger is untrained people using it and taking a nose full of water, it takes practice for many people to get used to breathing under water, super video though and can't believe how quickly the kids are growing up, I started watching the channel when you first started the drone videos.

    • @DustinDunnill

      @@DustinDunnill lung overexpansion is an issue. Never hold your breath.

    • @ddegn
      @ddegn ปีที่แล้ว

      This thing could kill you. It's not the decompression, it's the pressurized air in your lungs. Take a full breath when you're 10 feet down and then surface without blowing out the air, you can rupture your lungs.
      IIRC you can rupture your lungs from coming up from four feet of water.
      This thing is a death machine if people using it aren't properly trained.

    I wish I knew about this back in July when I was up in the Copper Harbor area on Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula jutting into Lake Superior. I wonder how much float COPPER there is yet just 10 feet down and there’s supposed to be quite a few chunks yet all over the place! Around 300 or so pounds of float copper would pay for this system (don’t scoff: there’s an 18-TON slab of float copper at the mineral museum at Michigan Tech)! 😄👍🏼

      Once you go below about 10 or 12 feet, you had better know how to scuba dive, and when to exhale on the way up. This looks like a great device for snorkeling. I have serious doubts about letting non-trained people use it as a substitute for scuba. There's just too much chance for a very bad lung accident.

    We are going into winter up here in Sandpoint, Idaho. I am going to purchase a Nemo in the spring. I wrote the company and they said they are working on a Nemo that will go deeper than 10 -12 feet. That would be nice. Thank you for the video.

    • @ddegn
      @ddegn ปีที่แล้ว

      You should get some scuba training before using a Nemo. Breathing in pressurized air is very dangerous. It only takes four feet of water to rupture ones lungs from compressed air.

    • @DustinDunnill
      @DustinDunnill  ปีที่แล้ว

      The excess air you don't inhale naturally is always blown out of the regulator so your lungs will never be exposed to harm unless a component fails. Definitely can't hurt to have some training though 🍻

    • @ddegn
      @ddegn ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DustinDunnill That's not the way it works. You lungs are exposed to harm by breathing in compressed air. If one breaths in compressed air while under water and then swims up while holding ones breath, lungs will rupture. My wife's cousin died this way.
      Scuba diving is dangerous. Using the Nemo is probably even more dangerous since the users aren't properly trained.

      The float is an included accessory that is sold with the system. All our systems are run on lithium ion batteries and they are airline friendly. We even have a travel certificate that can be printed in the event questions arise.

    I want one for metal detecting off the beach in South Florida ( the 80cu dive tank is a real pain to transport from car when you are over 70 years old ) but I think the price and only 60 min between charges makes it not worth it for me - if the battery's were half the price and there was an adaptor to have two or three connected together to increase the time and waterproofed I might consider it - I get 2 hrs on an 80cu at that depth and I normally skip breath - now that I think of it I could build my own higher capacity battery like on electric bikes if I could find the connectors and waterproof it -

      The Nomad Mini can do just that! By adding the Diveboost kit you can stack batteries together and dive longer. The batteries are smaller and so is the system!

    I purchased nomad blu3 from their dealer Kellyco metal detectors in august and few months later received email from dealer (Kellyco metal detectors) that I should check with Blu3 if my device is safe to use. Then I emailed and called to Blu3 and dealer, Blu3 confirmed by serial number that my device is unsafe, compressor can blow up and cause user's death by drowning. I asked if I can return device and get refund or just get a replacement, dealer and Blu3 refused to do so. Also there is no time frame to fix this device yet. I hope they won’t make me pay for shipping. Now my trip to Mexico in December is questionable. Please see attached emails from blu 3 and kellyco on their google listing. Who will cover time without device?, I bought device to use, not to deal with all of this. Blu3 simply dont stand behind their products.

      The pump makes the air flow throw the tube on demand as needed. There is no pressurization holding tank.

    As a certified advanced diver I think these are great units, but the dangers are taken too lightly. At 10 feet deep, breathing compressed air can still kill you if you don't take it serious, let alone at 30 feet. And biggest the risk is that in case of material failure the precautions that should be taken to prevent injury or death from 30 feet deep are not just understood by watching a video after buying the unit. These "toys" can be deathly if not taken serious. And their popularity is growing, so we will see the lawsuits rolling in because of injury and even death, and then even for a 10 foot deep unit a certification will be required before you can buy it.

    • @DustinDunnill
      @DustinDunnill  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I get it that a "blanket" caution is advised but @ 10feet... I'm interested in what could happen REALISTICALLY where a quick one second pop up to the surface would remedy if air supply has stopped. If a child had a problem then the parents should be at fault for negligence. The certification should be in the equipment functionality at this level.
      On the other hand, I can see a deeper 30feet being much more risky and possibly grounds for a cert. In my opinion a required cert for only 10 feet is kind of nonsense.

    • @evolutionversuscreat
      @evolutionversuscreat 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Realize that since it is compressed air, it will expand when going up towards the surface. Holding your breath while doing that could severely damage your lungs by just a 3 foot depth difference. So 10 feet could destroy lungs so badly that you would suffocate at the surface because you literally would have “exploded” you lungs. This does not happen during snorkeling or free diving because the air in your lungs is at surface pressure. The same science that makes you cannot breath the air through a tube at just a few feet deep because of the water pressure creates the danger when coming from under water to the surface.

    • @DustinDunnill
      @DustinDunnill  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think your statement is missing a huge variable in the volume of lung expansion compared to depth. Your example may be true for a much deeper dive, 50+ feet? 10 feet near surface will not destroy your lungs as you mention. Everyone's body is different but my son and I felt minimal pressure on a full breath when coming up from the 10 foot depth. There was also a natural urge to let the air out with the slight pressure when surfacing (kind of like putting your arms out subconsciously when you fall). Even at deeper depths it seems you'd really need to struggle and hold the pressure back in your lungs to do the damage you speak of.

    I watch Bondi Treasure Hunter all the time, He uses one of these a lot i dont think he used the extended snorkel shaft sometimes especially when he's not alone or not in the ocean. Probably wont be using that in the open ocean much so probably wont need the flag anyway, id doubt a boat hitting it would do damage to either unless the hose somehow gets caught in a propeller
