  • In today's episode we break down the realities of arm span vs. body width on drop shoulder style sweaters. We look at real world examples of different size garments on two bodies of the same circumference and then look at the math... but it's easy math. I promise!

So great to see Moo walking and playing in the background. I loved your live video with your friend and would look forward to seeing more of them.

Thanks for another informative video. As someone who also has shorter than average arms, this will come in handy. I think it’s great that you are sharing your knitting knowledge with us!

Your videos are golden. I learn so much. Have you written a book or would you please? Is there currently a reference book with these tips and math formulas? I can't say enough how valuable the information you impart is. Good on you! ❤

Thanks so much for your kind words! I haven't written a book, no, but I would love to someday. I don't know of a book that currently has all of these modifications in one place but I do know that the Knit to Flatter book is highly regarded by a lot of folks! That might be one you can check out!

Thanks for the video. Regarding your question about live videos. I tend not to watch live videos but do catch up with them afterwards.

My husband calls me T-rex arms too lol (for the same reason).

If the garment body is wider the sleeve hangs lower but the sleeve itself is not longer unless the pattern specifies a longer sleeve for that width. I found this confusing. A timely video as I'm struggling with a boxy sweater. I think the easiest way is to measure a sweater that fits the way you like as there are a lot of variables that affect fit like armhole depth and how fast or slow the sleeve tapers from where stitches are picked up to the wrist or wherever the sleeve is destined to end.

I see how that could be confusing! I'll make sure to clarify it a bit better in my upcoming episode. Thank you so much for the feedback!
