This is an aesthetically attractive small mall in a rural area of Upstate New York. Oneonta is located along Interstate 88 and NY 7, approximately halfway between Albany and Binghamton. It is approximately 200 miles from New York City although there is not a direct route between the two. I do not think that there is much retail competing with Southside Mall in that area. I hope that they are able to fill the vacant stores between the JC Penny and TJ MAXX, and that JC Penney remains so that the mall can continue to be successful.
This global health crisis had an impact on retail. In fact, investors had foreclosed on Southland Mall in Miami. The Boynton Beach Mall has also struggled as well, as it sits about a third vacant waiting for redevelopment.
This is not a joke. We cover malls for architectural and aesthetic charm, not because it has a lot of stores. This mall is quite architecturally and aesthetically pleasing with its hunting cabin style wood paneling and wooden beams. It is a very refreshing building, it is just sad the stores are mostly gone.

Three Star Mall sure looks different now... oh wait
Jokes aside, great looking place. Wood Grain is always a welcome touch.
I’m surprised on how they could make wood grain look modern. It somehow doesn’t look dated.

This mall was dead long before that
Very distinctive with that wood, but unfortunately the mall looks beyond the point of no return.
Wow. Unsurprisingly, things have really gone down here.

Is this a joke? This mall is the worst.
