    Think it would be good to do an update on this nearly 2 years later. I ended up purchasing the 10kg beko version of this machine for use in my appliance shed 2 months ago and only difference between the 2 is that the beko doesn’t have the whole FIBERCatcher thing and of course it’s newer which I am happy to report it has been MASSIVELY improved!
    The drum light is no longer surrounded by a plastic bracket so can’t become water damaged like it did on this machine as it’s water tight.
    The door seal design has changed slightly to accommodate the lack of need for a plastic bracket for the drum light and isn’t as stiff as it was on this machine plus isn’t extremely close to the drum either so can’t shred on high speed very unbalanced spins.
    Homewhiz connectivity will probably still be an issue but it’s just a useless feature anyway as even when it does work you can’t check how long is left on the wash due to the machine turning off its Bluetooth after a few minutes so haven’t tested it on my current beko.
    The 9kg models still seem to suffer more with suspension issues for some reason so those can still make jackhammer sounds on spin however 10kg ones seem to be fine almost all the time by the looks of things.
    FIBERCatcher is still awfully designed unfortunately and drains out detergent at the start during the sensing phase on cycles that use it from what I’ve seen in other videos which is a shame but is what it is.
    Overall these are decent machines again I’d recommend going for the beko version more (model B5W51041AW) as you’ll have good synthetics,sports and shirts cycles as it won’t have the FIBERCatcher filter to ruin them but the grundig version is good if you want a matching set/ wouldn’t use synthetics sports or shirts :)

    Thank you for uploading this video and your demo.. I was inclined to this model but have my reservations now so will look at another brand. I also read numerous negative reviews about Grundig UK customer service.
    Take note Grundig UK!

      Your very welcome yeah bekos customer service is non existent in the uk I’m onto my second top of line beko made machine that’s needed to be refunded in under a year and took them 5 days to get back to me just to randomly book an engineer (thankfully the retailer I bought the machine from was way more helpful and am now sending my current machine back next week for a full refund) your better going for like even a mid range Bosch or something like that honestly :)

    Thank you so much for your detailed review. Saw these in Currys. They look very nice, but I could tell they are not the same built quality as the previous Grundig/Beko machines. It looks like Beko Arcelik are becoming complacent with their top sales.

  • @Motherboard686

    To be honest I wasn't expecting much from the Fibercatcher as those "innovations" never really work anyway. For that sensing; it's just straight up bad. I don't what the thought process was behind that, but I guess they thought you put the pods in the drawer for some reason but that is something you shouldn't do as they don't dissolve properly there. Finally, for those quality issues, you would need to have a known-good model to make a fair judgement as I highly doubt ALL of them are like that...
    Also what about the matching dryer? Is that still good after 2 months of use?

    • @Washerboy2006
      @Washerboy2006  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t understand the sensing either and it can spend a good few minutes filling up depending on the load size I stuck 2 pods in for that wash and 1 burst and the other got stuck in the seal thank god so only had to add an extra one in on the mainwash also sorry about the quality judgement thing I guess I was kind off comparing it to my cousins aquatech without actually saying I was lol 😆 (I normally do a few attempts when doing reviews before uploading them but because I done this quite literally the night before it was about to leave I only had 1 attempt for a review 😂) the dryer is doing extremely well although my mum is quite 50/50 on it as for some reason depending on what I dry cottons extra dry is the only cycle that dries everything fully where as all the other cycles can leave thick fabrics slightly damp but it doesn’t bother me at all

    I have a Beko washer which is run every day at least once and mostly twice with kids and cats necessitating it. After 5 busy years, it is still washing great without a hitch!

    • @Washerboy2006
      @Washerboy2006  ปีที่แล้ว

      The older ones sure where amazing we had a 5kg one that was never off and lasted 7 years despite only costing £180 brand new! Just like everything though these new ones aren’t built the same as models from even 2 years ago imo ☹️ we used to be very loyal customers of beko for 16 years but after having not 1 but 2 of these go wrong in under a year along with bad customer service we lost faith in the brand 😔 the second one branded as a Blomberg had 3 engineers out to it within 9 months in the end it kept on glitching constantly causing it to press the pause button mid cycle, struggle to turn and once even got stuck filling with water! Quite sad tbh all the brand loyalty just thrown away just like that but I’m glad yours is still working to it’s best. personally I recommend when the time comes that yours breaks in the distant future even consider getting it repaired?! It’s typically only minor things that go wrong with the older ones so could save a lot of money than buying a new machine :)

    7 years after my Beko was made, and i still go back to my theory that they come up with most of their study without doing tests and researches to make sure it's gonna work and shit unlike a hated brand i own a washer of that scrapped most of the ideas beko kept, also it's rare to find a beko or similar that doesn't have any glitch or something wrongly built

    Do you still advise us to avoid buying Grundig or Blomberg of Beko?

    • @Washerboy2006
      @Washerboy2006  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No I definitely wouldn’t advise avoiding these at all now this was a faulty from box machine that really disappointed me but ended up getting a Samsung series 5+ that disappointed me even more than this machine. That’s why I went back to beko and got a blomberg and don’t regret it at all. I personally would recommend the beko Aquatechs over grundig WaterCare models but if you don’t use synthetic sports or shirts either is fine

    I like Beko as a brand however, their washers in my opinion are bad 7 out of 10 times, I don’t understand how can a washer pass through testing etc. and make it to the market when the programing is all over the place and doesn’t make sense, there should be a professional team behind them but I don’t see it.

    • @Washerboy2006
      @Washerboy2006  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      EXACTLY 🙌 I used to like them for their reliability but programming was awful and always has been like I really don’t understand why they removed top ups on rinses, only sensed on 2 cycles (with only 2 levels of load adjustment) and allowed it to spin when the entire load is on one side of the drum for slow spins on 2018 models (WTG WTB etc.) I feel like the programming was slightly better on these new ones (but deffo not synthetic cycles seeing as they are useless) but still need to make them actually heat on the prewash and now the quality is 💩 it’s like they’re just getting worse and worse every year now😒

      @@mulayimcizirti3149 kept on having issues with it from day 1 it shredded the door seal on the first wash I done meaning the drum filled with smoke on the final spin due to the drum rubbing against the door seal at such a high speed meaning everything stunk once it had finished. the day after it was delivered the drum light kept on flickering due to it being water damaged then on day 3 the machine kept on disabling Bluetooth by itself so couldn’t use the app. on day 4 it just about worked the inverter module for the motor kept on glitching meaning it would sit and do nothing for nearly a minute every time it glitched so that it could reset the motor. Then due to it having “FIBERCatcher” the 3 cycles that used it where useless as it done this load sensing thing where it would fill up to a certain level then drain all the water out once it had reached that level and it done this before the main wash meaning the detergent that you used for the wash was wasted due to it draining it all out before the main wash if you put it into the drum and according to them powder can damage the FIBERCatcher so can’t use that and due to it having that pull down liquid flap it slowly let’s the detergent go into the machine as soon as you pour it into the drawer meaning it was also wasted and I should probably mention that load sensing thing it does determines whether it actually used FIBERCatcher so if you have low water pressure it would think there was absorbent clothes in the machine so wouldn’t use the main function off the machine at all which was why I was very disappointed with it 😕

    i just ordered my machine! Do you know for the watercare do we have to do something or is it auto?

    • @Washerboy2006
      @Washerboy2006  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s automatic 🙂 watercare is basically just a jet spray of water that comes from one of the paddles that the machine positions to the top of the drum. However the machine does have a grey micro plastic filter at the back of the detergent drawer that requires replacing every few months (the microfiber filter led will flash on the display if it needs replaced and needs to be reset when you’ve got a new one by pressing and holding the prewash button for 3 seconds) if you use synthetic sports or shirts on the machine if you don’t use them cycles then it doesn’t use the fibercatcher technology though :) thought I’d just say recommend you use cottons with express pressed once they love to turn some of the cycles from 1:20 into 3:30 if it’s full 🙃
