Muhammad Boota owns a decades old family business of catering. His wish to make both of his sons, Rafaqat and Sadaqat a part of his business, remains unfulfilled as his sons along with their families settle abroad. Disheartened by his sons, Muhammad Boota gives away his family business in the care of his only son in law, Ashiq Hussain and grandson, Basim.
Basim, a handsome young man dreams of moving abroad and complains about every inconvenience in his life. On the other hand, Bela is a beautiful young girl who has been living with her grandfather after the death of her parents. Being a sensible and hardworking girl, Bela disregards the attitude of her cousin, Basim and the two of them are always arguing with each other.
The story takes a turn when everyone finds out about the split in ownership of the family business leading Rafaqat and Shafaqat to visit Pakistan with their families.
What begins as an unusual family reunion slowly escalates into a series of realizations, family bonding and a chance of young love. Amongst this family dramedy, will Basim and Bela realize their true love for each other or will they fall prey to family politics? Ishq Jalebi is a romantic comedy serial that will bring an estranged family closer this Ramazan.

Throughout the drama they have shown Basim given unfair treatment by his grandfather as well as his parents (his mother is emotionally unavailable and doesn't even give half the love to BAsim that she does to Bela....as for his father, he is also just cashing him and emotionally blackmailing him).....as for Bauji, his mockery of Basim is supposed to be cute and funny....I don't find it funny at all.....normalizing elderly people discriminating between grandchildren is so problematic.....I waited for some compensation throughout the month for what Basim has been put through but instead they worsen it by turning Vicky turning against Basim and forcefully fixing his engagement with Esha.......aur aakhir mein koi miracle hoga aur Basim aur Bela ki shaadi hojaegi......there will be no realization on the mother's or the father's or the grandfather's part that they have been unfair to him......bas shaadi ko compensation banaa diya jaaega......initially i enjoyed Ishq Jalebi a lot and admired Saima Akram Choudhry's writing but now she has proved to be a typical writer by normalizing the wrongdoing of elders (case in point: bauji's attitude with Basim) and showing her heroine to be a typical rotu master..........TRULY ANNOYING!

Not only does she not recognise how troubled and confused Basim is by everything but now she is also not seeing that Bela isnt happy.
