The Great Gatsby Official Trailer #2 (2012) Leonardo DiCaprio Movie HD
Nick Carraway, a Midwesterner now living on Long Island, finds himself fascinated by the mysterious past and lavish lifestyle of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby. He is drawn into Gatsby's circle, becoming a witness to obsession and tragedy. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
This movie was beautifully done. I've always wondered what Fitzgerald would think if he saw this. He died thinking that his book was a flop.
Ming Yang except the movie is missing on the emphasis on the fact that the american dream is a failure. something that is huge in the book
+Desertfox you've missed it, not the movie. It's there.
+markmalkin No he didn't. The main theme of the book is the hollowness and shill nature of the upper class and the corruption of the American dream. If you don't get this you should read the book again.
+FyllingenOy The movie also shows that.
Well, guys, I suppose one of the most important themes of the book was that you really can't repeat the past, but most of us believe we can (as it was mentioned in last words of the book about the current). Not only failure of American Dream ;-)
The film did it justice to some point, but I still think it could have been done better. Characters are more complex in the book than they are in the film and Daisy was originally more vain than hurt. But maybe that's only mine POV. God Bless You!
the gatsby is a human representation of failed hope. but also the symbol of confidence.
and constant striving for a better future
Beautifully put

It's a symbol for foolishness.
"Cant repeat the past? Why oh course you can!" Best line in history.
No miss, best line in the *PRESENT*

When you have all the money & power u can indeed repeat the past
No mater how I look at tobey maguire he will will always look like Peter Parker
lol I feel the same way
I saw the film, when he came onto the screen I screamed: "Oh, my God - Spiderman is in this!" I'm glad I was watching it at home...(:
Yara Sammour i said that in class while watch it lol
I think he looks like Gene Kelly.
I’ll always see him as Nick
Cant repeat the past?
*whispers*
Well of course you can.
Gives me goosebumps every time lol
whispers
Karla Munoz I showed the meme of that to my mother, who is constantly telling me I was born in the wrong century.

Am I the only one repeating the ending over and over just because of the badassery taking place?
'Badassery' is officially my new favorite word.
I thought it was "badassness"?

This trailer is seriously on of the best trailers for any movie ever. I remember sitting in my broadcasting class senior year, after we made the announcements, I would sit here and shit bricks at this trailer. Gives you shivers. Absolutely amazing.

One of the best trailers I've ever seen... Leo it's just amazing!
honestly, nick x gatsby forever otp
nick is the only person who genuinely cared about gatsby the precious cinnamon roll
they're straight. Ship sunk
+Dante Miles actually if you analyze Nick's character properly you will discover that he has sexual relationships with men all throughout the book. I'm not saying to ship it, just that he was not straight.
***** I got that "vibe" from Nick but gatsby is straight for sure
+TheAngelloveanime but he also had affairs with multiple women throught the course of the book. maybe as a cover up, who knows. He could've been bisexual. But he also has a lot of "I don't know"s in the book, and maybe his sexuality was one of them
Jean-Luc DeCoster Yes, I also think that these reasons could explain why he acted that way and why he had affairs with women. Either that, or it was to make the book more acceptable considering the time it was published.
Not only was the book amazing, watching the movie just brought everything to life and heightened my expectations.. So many people complained about how they saw the characters, but honestly everyone portrayed them amazingly! Great job Baz, Carrie, Toby and everyone else.. Splendid literature
EVEN THE FREAKING TRAILERS ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
same
Songs from first to last:
JAY Z & Kanye West - "No Church in the Wild"
Florence + the Machine - "Bedroom Hymns"
Filter - "Happy Together"
One of the best book-to-film adaptations ever. Most just re-enact the material in a point-form, straightforward way. This went out of its way at every turn to bring it to life.
leonardo is awesome old sport..
0:44 SO THIS IS WHERE THAT INFAMOUS MEME ORIGINATED FROM
Taek every time i see that meme all i get is sad bc of Jay
high school sophomore and just finished reading the book for an assignment. I literally loved this book and how interesting the characters were + the society they were revolved in. It’s such an eye opener and a unique tale. I didn’t expect myself to enjoy the book up until the last few chapters. wow, i’m stunned.
Its her best role then cause she is adorable
Baz said that he made the parties this large because in the 1920's Gatsby's parties looked like what it did in the movie to people. He wanted the audience to experience what it felt like to readers when the book came out. It's genius
This is the best movie in history. This is so my fav movie
this movie is bomb!
love this movie
This movie had perhaps the best trailers of any film ever. Pure intrigue without giving anything away.
I feel that the music went amazing with the film. It enhanced the story and helped connect it to today's generation. I went to the premiere last night and I loved the film, the acting is spectacular. I got chills multiple times and I cried at the end....but I am a total geek when it comes to Gatsby so maybe thats just me.
two most iconic actors leonardo and maguire.love to watch this movie always
Are Gatsby & Daisy taking a selfie at 1:38 ??? haha
yes
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The camera they are using is probably the same as the one in Who Framed Rodger Rabbit that Eddie Valiant used to get patty cake pics.
This trailer is way better than the first one
Agreed.
What a great movie. I can't believe how well it captured so many of the delicate things from the book, especially when it came to every character.
Upon a recent re-evaluation, I have decided to emphatically state my admiration for this Picture.
Wow, I'm surprised no one has mention the art deco style of the movie. It's beautiful.
"Imagine me and you, I do"... Still come to this trailer to watch it
Before this movie even came out or I knew about, I imagined Leornado playing Gatsby on the book
I wrote my thesis on the Great Gatsby. Easiest A I ever got.
"Can't repeat the past? why of course you can..." I always get goosebumps in this part. ILY Leo, great acting, movie, and soundtrack!!!!!!!!!!
"- You can't repeat the past
- Of course you can"
this is so true. I love Leonardo omg
I'm so sad this movie didn't get an Oscar , it was amazing 😖😖
The ending was so heartbreaking 🤧
One of the greatest movies of our generation
Once again, Leonardo DiCaprio proves he IS an exceptionally talented actor!!
e4 te45te4 tes4
I finished the book yesterday as school assigned reading. I loved it. I've never seen the movie, and seeing this trailer after having read the book, it captures it perfectly
I just keep coming back for 1:23 and on because its just that amazing. The timing, the suspense, the music. It gives me such chills!
best trailer ever..
I loved how Gatsby snapped and told Tom to shut up, and after buttoned his jacket and apoligized, Leonardo DiCaprio is really an incredible actor.
this movie is pure perfection! i didn't expect it to be this good. i was amazed when i saw it the other night.leonardo sould win an oscar for this one!
The movie was great, powerful, emotional, daring, spin-tingling, outstanding, and had complete overwhelming sensation that takes you on a real thrill ride. Leonardo DiCaprio deserves an Oscar!!!
This is the best movie trailer ever made.
Damn it, they already spoiled the movie because Leo Nardo Di Capio is playing Gatsby, and that means Gatsby dies in this movie because we all know what happens in a Leo Nardo Di Capio movie
or because you know the book has been out forever and is taught in high schools

*****
the modern music combined with that era made an intresting story that much more captivating.
This movie is really fabulous...glamorous...and absolutely romantic. Real Litterature...very sensitive.
The uneasy feeling you get when you see so much of Gatsby in yourself
Reading the book now in school, and then I'll finally watch the movie :D
What did you think?
Kristina Savic Sorry, I don't remember names since it's been so long, except Gatsby :P I felt bad for Gatsby, that the lady he loved couldn't care one once about him after vouching for her and everything. It's a good book and a good movie though :)
I regret, it took 7 years to watch such a beautiful piece 😞
This was honestly the best movie I've seen in my life
what a lot of people don't realize is how big of a star the actor who plays Meyer Wolfsheim is. It's just another great addition to a great casted movie and well directed one too.
I have great faith in this film and believe it's going to go far in the hearts of minds of us all
Yeah, he's an Indian actor, Amitabh Bachhan. I was literally surprised seeing him in this film.
i watch this trailer all the time because this is one of the best movie trailers ever. its put together so nicely
There are some movies I can watch on and on like 100 times and they still amaze me. This movie is one of them.
Greatest movie of all time
To all the Oscars they robbed Leo...😔
Thank you so much! I've been waiting four hours!
Gorgeous book, gorgeous movie, gorgeous actors, gorgeous soundtrack!
I read the book and it was a tragic story.
Amitabh was stunning.....
relally wow i didn't know he was in it.
Bedroom hymns!!! by Florence and the Machine!!
Kenneth Ramìrez finally someone
These guys did a fantastic job with creating all of their trailers really gets any audience really excited and captivated enough to watch the movie
The best trailer ever
Am I the only one who noticed the selfie around 1:37-1:38 ?
This is by far the best trailer I've seen for it. Incredible film!
To anyone who hasn't watched this yet, it was a masterpiece. That is all.
this movie (book) is a classroom discussion on the "American Dream".....
0:44 a meme was born
just watched this...one of di caprios finest movies mind blown!!!
All time favorite movie.
Al principio me aburrí, pero una vez que la termine no me arrepentí de haberla visto. Me gustó mucho👍😭💗
Just finished reading the book, time to see the movie old sport.
Me too, I've just finished the book, old sport. I'd had no idea it was so sad. It's time for me to cry again with the movie.
I think the reason they put modern music in the trailer (and maybe the movie idk) instead of 20's music is because these modern songs really express the emotions
The movie was absolutely incredible! I would recommend it to everyone and I really want to see it again soon!!!
So ....... where's the oscar
Leo and toby are actually childhood friends
This should ve been an Oscar for Leonardo
Thank you so much!
where can i hire this guy to make my Bachelorette party?
Damn this trailer makes it look like a super dark movie when it's not at all
Film was incredible, one of the best I've ever seen
visuals are spectacular!!! plus great Acting from Leo and Toby!
1:38 Wtf? Are they taking a selfie? In 1922? I guess money can buy you everything.
you are right it was physically impossible to take a selfie in 1922
Taking one with an old camera
The first selfie was taken in 1839...so yeah. They could certainly take selfies in 1922 when cameras were gaining more popularity in homes than ever! :-)
I just wished they used more 20s music, than rap music. Not that's rap's better and trying to modernize it in that sense, but I just think it would've been better differently/musically
+E FM because nowadays R&B and urban (there isn't much rapping, actually) are equivalent to what jazz represented back then, that's why. It's the same thing they did with the ball scene in A Knight's Tale, they played Bowie as an equivalent to what their classics felt back then.
Ah, okay. (Knight's Tale was really nice!) It does make sense; I don't despise R&B/ect, but I guess it's just some of the songs they used for the movie is all. (i.e., at the speakeasy, and when Nick got drunk at the party, ect.)
E FM in knight's tale even the clothes are designed using nowadays clothing as reference, so they feel normal at the public's eyes
true but at least rap music is better than todays music although best music came out of the 80's Gold as ever.
THIS WAS AMAZING.
It was the masterpiece I imagined this book to be...I was amazed and blown away. This was just...epic~ such a fabulous film
This is one of the best trailers I’ve ever seen.
Happy together by filter
what is the name of the last song?
Filter - Happy Together
+Cesar Xtreme thanks😄
This is one of my favorite movies of all time! I love it! I still have to read the book though...
my fave trailer of all! watched the movie last night and fell in love with it, def worth buying when it comes out on dvd!
rgeres4t se4te t4se
What the song 0:43 ?
Timor Cohen Bedroom Hymns - Florence + The Machine
What's the song at 0:09 and at 1:27?
Don’t know if you still need it, but it’s No Church in the Wild by Jay-Z and Kanye West (with Frank Ocean doing the chorus)
1:27 Is actually a different song. It's "Filter - Happy Together."
Thanks for taking the time brother. I'm sure more educated about that book and movie
i can watch this a 100 times and it will still be the best trailer ever.
Hey, anyone from 2020 and interested in this movie? I actually want to read the book first, is it appropriate and decent for 13 year old me? Thanks!
peanutbutter & jelly time yes and no.... the move is more illicit than the book. There’s no real swearing unless words like, “damn” are too offensive for you (it’s Okay if it is). It’s very minimal. it has strong language like that and there’s a bit of scandalous infidelity implied but no sexual acts are written in or anything like that. It’s not smutty or erotic. There are definitely more modern books and songs that are more inappropriate than this book. It’s very beautifully written and if you can keep in mind the period it’s written in and appreciate it from that perspective it’s not a terrible pain to read. If you like everything to be said and described at face value and don’t like metaphor... you might dislike it but other than that it’s definitely worth a read.
Thank you so much for replying! You made me interested in the book even more than I already was. I appreciate you for answering my question! Thank you so much! I hope you have a wonderful day/night!!!
can someone tell me name of songs used in trailer please? thank you
Look up the Great Gatsby sountrack. You'll find most of the songs
Filter - "Happy Together" ;)
The second song, the one that starts at 0:39, is called "Bedroom Hymns", performed by Florence + the Machine.
The first song is "No Church in the Wild" by Jay-Z and Kanye West.
Thank you!!
He blew my mind when I saw this earlier! Wonderful performance LEONARDO!
