There's some good tips below. I can think of 2 things that might help. 1) try using some soldering flux where the solder goes, 2) use Amphenol brand SO239 connectors . The Amphenol brand don't bead the solder as much as some other brands. 73
That's his favorite summer time thing to do is play in the pool and fight the hose. I thought it would be fun to add it to the video. Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing! 73s! Ben
I’m going to give this a try soon. To help with fastening the connector, I’m going to try either a strap or flattened pipe that wraps around the pipe. I figure I can then attach the connector to that strap with screws.
Suggestion for soldering - don't use propane, use map gas (yellow cannster). Heat the union, not the pipe, then touch the solder at union edge. Then use copper flat stock to make wrap around clamps. This allows for very easy swr adjustment. Doug, K5DHL
Yea the MAP gas really speeds stuff up. I'll have to try using the copper flat stock next time and see how that works for tuning. Thanks for watching and commenting! 73s! Ben

Use steel wool to clean the pipe, then put some flux on the connection bottom and the pipe it will flow to the flux.

You should have done a picture in picture cam of the garden hose fight
I feel like if I made a channel for him fighting a hose he would get more views and subscribers lol.
@@k8ktoamateurradio671 Can we get more videos of Remington fighting the garden hose this summer?
@@findlayfop3297 I think I can make an update video this summer with him in it.

👍👍👍
Always glad to have a visit from the Green Donkey!
Did you use flux on your solder joints? It will work much easier to get the solder to flow properly. 👍
I am not sure if I did or not. I just need to get some of my scrap copper and connectors and play around with them a bit to work on technique.
