Brazilian Selection: African and Indigenous Influences (1980-2023)
Tahira is based on the Brazilian island of Florianopolis. He has been promoting
The Brazilian culture in the last 20 years inside and outside his homeland as a DJ, compiller and producer.
While most of the DJs play Brazilian Disco, Baile Funk and Bossa Nova, Tahira goes musically to all other corners of his country spectrum, usually very focused on African influences and contemporary sounds.
In his belt, he has two compilations that are very well received by DJs, specialists and the dancefloor: Levanta Poeira (2018) and Brasil Novo (2023).
In this set, the idea is to show the diversity of styles, and the majority of the songs are from the contemporary era.

Congrats and thanks for showing the world where it all came from. The main rhythm in the set is the IJEXÁ, an african major influence of our music. By the way, the Ijexá is the reverse rhythm of Capoeira , and vice versa

@@jugo1944sim português com forte ancestralidade africana, expresso nesse caso com esse interesse pois é música de religião então faz parte das características desta música os dialetos afro-brasileiros. Essa mistura se expressa de norte a sul do Brasil que é um país enorme e com muitas diferenças regionais e a matriz africana acaba sendo a única que transpassa todo o território nacional.

Oie! Sou 'gringo', meio morando no Brasil, e sou apaixonado pelo povo brasileiro e suas qualidades, como as músicas usadas nesse set. O problema do Brasil - se vocês me permitem - não é os gringos, mas os brasileiros mesmo. Uma nação que deu tanta beleza na música, acabou de criar 'funk' e sertanejo por kilo (sem querer diminuir o valor de quem curte essas coisas).
Creio que o país está passando uma crise cultural - como o mundo inteiro - e espero que passará logo..

As always, anything Afro Brazilian speaks to my heart and soul. I love this selection, the perfect Sunday morning playlist for me and the jungle critters.
I have enjoyed watching MAJ grow in the last year, both in subscribers and content. The house and percussion sets are much appreciated and add diversity to the music genres. It also adds that Twitch feel to the videos. I can always go through the MAJ video list and find something that fits my mood.
I am also glad to see Shaqdi in the photo. Her influence on the channel was felt long before you updated the photo several months ago.
