It’s pretty easy once you get used to it. When players are running are just go for the 2 body shots rather than trying to go for the headshot. I was pretty aggressive sniper player so ssr 41 was a no go for me. Took too long to charge the next shot
If they took bfv’s gunplay (no bullet deviation for moving and shooting, tighter accuracy, and no suppression) and put it in bf4, this game’d be perfect

I've been playing bf4 actively again for a while now. It's awesome how active the servers still are on ps4. On a weekend there's 20+ conquest servers full with 5 people in queue.
This was, in my opinion, DICE's last great Battlefield. Bf1 and Bf5 are enjoyable, but nothing compared to that of bf4 and even bf3. They need to make another bf4 or bf3 and get off this theme of WW1 or WW2.

tbf only one bug shit part of bf4 is just netcode, after all, like after the first 6 months they unfuck the game after release, the game run really smoothly.
I really enjoyed BF4 Sniping. Not sure if I preferred it over BF3 or not. I think my longest headshot in BF4 was 1020ish meters. It was on a private Sniper only server so I didn't feel too bad about sitting at the edge of the map for a bit.
I wish I had bf4 in its prime. I love the sniping in that game and I first got the game after BFV came out, I'm that late, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the game
BF4 was an amazing time for me. There were so many ways to play, and sniping was my second favorite to medic. It took me a long time to get good with it, but after I nailed my first +1000m headshot, I was hooked.
the only issue with sniping on bf4 is on console if you just have a regular controller. the deadzone to shoot is so high, meaning you have to pull the triggers all the way down to shoot. i got really good at sniping on bf1 and bf5 from being able to flick shot with a light tap of the trigger and being able to pop in and out of cover while being able to quickly shoot and respond to the scene in front of me. but its still an awesome game and getting kills feels so rewarding
This game was everything, man, it felt so satisfying- you earned every kill, no 360 No Scope.. or some asshole running & gunning; great team effort was needed.
Yh it's great and I still play it. Its a shame this dude kinda does do the "quick scope" but it's how he wants to do it i guess. I much prefer realistic sniping from distance, Especially on Gulmud Railway. I usually find a spot and then sit patiently until I can confirm targets. Snipings hard and I can tell this dude isn't great at long game sniping, he's more of a COD player. But anyways, this game is awesome. The new battlefield games don't beat it.

I guess no one remembers the ridiculous bullet spread of bf2 making it damn near storm trooper levels of difficulty where u have to be a seasoned vet to have positive accuracy
When sniping was hard... I first learned sniping on BF4 lol so that's why it's not that hard. Well, I'm not great, but I have a very high headshot rate. Nothing beats a well calculated 1-shot kill.
I LOVED sniping in BF4, I should say counter-sniping because I’d pull out the 40x and hunt down recons using the range finder and kentucky windage to get that perfect shot. SO satisfying!

I think it's a rewarding and challenging one to one hit kill only by a headshot, but I think it is also total bullshit if bolt action rifle only deals 60ish up to 70 max damage on upper torso hit. Not to mention this is World War 2, where every soldier did not have an armored protective gear, and weapons on that era especially rifles and machine guns had 7,62 or 7,7 or 7,92 mm caliber which is much more bigger than 5,56 nowadays. Faster TTK is well suited for WW2 shooter, while BF4 TTK is perfect for modern era shooter.

One thing to make this my suggestion works is, give bolt action rifles to every class because bolt action rifles was a standard issue gun for every class. Use the BF4 formula by not restricting each class by certain weapon type. But also make bolt action rifle harder to master by huge recoil and higher bullet dispersion and slightly lower rate of fire for non recon class.
I didnt mind the new settings of BF1 and BFV, but I dont like the new gameplay changes they did with those games, well I like some, but most of them I dont. Im still waiting for a new BF game that has the similar gameplay/gunplay like BF3 and BF4. Maybe next BF?
I want a sniping game that’s as realistic as possible and is like approved by actual snipers. It doesn’t even have to be very fast-paced. It can just be like the experience of a professional sniper or something where you hide in the grass. They can speed it up if they want.
Fym, Snipin has always been fun. Even on Hardline, BF1 and BF5. The only problem I have with BF5 is that you can not heal yourself by stealing someones kit.

I wish I could find DECENT BF4 servers 6 years later. Apparently you can but for me on east coast USA, all I see is weird "Civil War US vs US" servers, a bunch of hardcore, 24/7 golmud or metro/locker, etc. Very little rush. Tons of servers that show up as full but when you open the server details, there's 2 people in them. And on and on. I've wanted to go back and play it a few times now and I've been able to find 1 or 2 fun games that usually last for a single map. I just want to play standard ranked conquest 32 or 64 player with a good ping and a decent map rotation whether it's standard or premium maps I don't really care. Harder than it seems for me lately. If anyone has any suggestions on good servers, feel free to let me know. My filters are as wide open as I can make them.
Best advice I can give is to host your own. Unfortunately it seems the rest of BF4's days are locked to 24/7 servers. If you host your server though, people will come.

Looks like the ability to hear and determine the direction of an enemy attack is a huge competitive advantage in BF games. Sucks for people with mono hearing.
the best part of BF4, on medium hardware (GTX970/1060 + 4960 i5 OC @4.2ghz) I can have it upscaled from 1080p x1.24-1.5 and it runs at 60-80fps still. I know only ReAl GamErs play in 200fps with a $2,000 rig, but for $750 or less, this game looks and runs better than any current shooter. God bless you BF4.

The pay off was immense! I didn't play it for 2 years and i picked it up again and the bullet drop and timing was still burned into my brain.
