If the writers had listened to Ben Barnes and done actual Darklina dynamics that made the once unknown book skyrocket to fame, then the show wouldn’t have been cancelled

But, sadly Eric Heisserer and the writers just wanted to destroy Alina, the trilogy, and the darkling’s character. The more we look at the writer’s interviews and replies the more evident it becomes. Just like Christina strain the other day replying and making it clear she would have destroyed the main points of Demon in the Wood just to villainize and make Darkling be one dimensional

@@allison3852 no they won’t. It got cancelled. At most, the “fan” petitions would bring back the already written Six of Crow spin-off. The writers had no plans to do anything with S&B. Eric ruined the trilogy on purpose to force Netflix to only have the option to give him the SoC

Oh, I agree with Ben. He was such an eye candy in Dorian Gray, his acting was good even that time. But if he played the character now (considering his own takes/personal anecdotes he includes in his roles), he would have nailed the character. In my mind, The Darkling is the matured version of Dorian Gray minus the intimacy/hedonistic charms.

Imagine if they didn't even included Ben's list of sentences... the few crumbs we got of great Darklina content was clearly not pushed by the writers..

The writers hated the character so much that they lost sight of the fact that Darklina dynamic was what made the trilogy intriguing in the first place. Had it not been for the Darklina “book pushers” as Leigh dedicated in the acknowledgments, the trilogy would have flopped. Seeing the writers turn their back on the og backbone of the grishaverse was insulting
