John Steinbeck was born in Salinas, North California, a beautiful farming country By the Pacific Ocean. As you know all of his novels took place there. I spent over six months back in 1958 of my Army basic training , Fort Ord, between Salinas and Monterey and that’s another one of his novel Tortilla Flat took place. East of Eden another one of his later novel that made into a movie by the late James ‘Dean , a powerful movie and A box office hit. John Steinbeck was considered one of America literature giant and many of his works were used In American Literature classes in school.
Actually,there is a deeper understatement. WE is used as a proactive role,whereas US is in passive role. When STEPHEN is carrying out CCP ORDER,his role is WE;but all honggongers,incl him,is US BUT STEPHEN CANNOT EXPLAIN THIS OPENLY

我上學時老師教讀"Sty-beck", "S-Die-Beck"。讀到Lennie用手握死衣袋裡的老鼠時，就foresee到佢會握死那農場女主人。本書裡面有好多刻意文法錯誤，用以表示低下階層既教育水平。另外，本書開始所描述佢地經過類似仙境既地方係相當有深意，同故事結尾有所呼應。

今天聽了一個好好嘅視頻，是給世人反思的，裡面說到的John Steinbec 能拿到諾貝爾獎， 我們能完整地看到這本故事書，一些跟資本主義權貴對立嘅書，已證明當時嘅社會，在再沒有希望之中，聰明的人總是，永遠被賞識和充滿無限的希望的，也證明了美國，在最絕望嘅時代，也會是一個夢工場，是夢境可成真的夢工場！再看John Steinbec的現實人生，仍有不絕的機會，沒有被封殺或被趕盡殺絕，就知道美國是不斷栽培真正嘅人才，而不是糟蹋他們，也不會無理地小氣地妒忌他們，給予上天製造的人才，都可以好好發揮出自己嘅功能價值出來，他們珍惜人才，經常表揚一些小人物的光芒，和給予他們一些小舞臺 ~ ~ 幾百年來，美國都是信奉 In God We Trust, 「 人類是要信奉神、而不是順從人 」的宗旨，將上天設計人類美好的東西，都淋漓盡致地盡情發揮呈現出來，百花齊放，所以，美國才能夠成為真正強國之一 ~ 也令人相信，其實，任何一個國家，只要奉行這種宗旨和態度，即使能不能成為強國，也罷，但他們一定上上下下人民、或裏裏外外軟硬實力，一定會非常之堅實可敬，不用滲透收買人心，也會受人民支持和追隨，和這些國家一定不會過得差的 ~ 人的希望，就像現在和未來嘅烏克蘭一樣吧 ~ ~

讀這本書是年少蒙閉閉的歲月，應該是功課那種。現在聴你講，想起小學老師説遊牧民族隨水而居，當時覺很 奇怪，怎會冇固定的家？沒想到在美五十多年，也隨工而居。和George ,Lenny 一同工作後，狂歡的人。就似水手上岸沒有明天的瘋狂。人是不能獨居，且喜同聲氣相聚。不會為中餐而去中國城。總之能聽到鄉音就特別舒坦。
