    I believe that the Arteza watercolor paper that you're using is cotton as opposed to wood pulp which is the key. Many Arteza pads are wood pulp which is much more prone to bulking. Thank you for this video, it led me down a short rabbit hole to discovering this key.

    • @TheBuzzedArtist

      I’m so glad this helped! I would say all of these papers are archival, which will ensure optimal preservation of paper quality- as for paint quality, that depends on the paint you actually use. As for varnish, you have the option to use it, but it’s totally not required :)

I had a question, I'm fairly new to acrylics and I mainly use it to in my journal and the pages are 120gsm yet I experience that whenever I paint 2 sides, the pages just stick together and Its hard to get them to seperate! Is that common? And what can I do in this situation?

    • @TheBuzzedArtist
      @TheBuzzedArtist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say that can be pretty common, especially since acrylics can stick to each other when room temperature is on the warmer side. I would suggest painting on one side of the page so that no two paintings touch each other. Also, keep a close tab on the room temperature

    Very useful, thanks! However, I know that you were using water to thin down your acrylics. I was always taught not to do that. When I need to create more spread, I use an acrylic binder. Do you think that would make a difference with the warping?

    • @TheBuzzedArtist
      @TheBuzzedArtist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad this was helpful for you :) acrylic binder is a great medium to use (especially if you really need to dilute your paint and don’t want to ruin the acrylic integrity). I’m not quite sure if the warpage would still happen, but my guess is the lighter weight papers will still have warping issues regardless. I’ll have to investigate this further in the future :)

      Diana Moon: Hello, do you mind mentioning the cause of thinning acrylics with water is not good, please?
      I have done that as an old-beginner, and lacking money and with a bit of perfectionism with a little performance anxiety, and in thinking that I am not good enough to use a lot of thick paint...that sort of thought process... :-)

    • @DianaMoon11428
      @DianaMoon11428 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Medietos acrylic paint, as the name suggests, is pigment with an acrylic binder. The acrylic binder is a plastic polymer. If you add too much water it will break this binder and create a very weak paint. You can look all of this up on the internet, I am not a chemist, but that is what I read.
