You are such a wonderful teacher!! I have tinkered a bit at trying to learn how to knit, but never really felt confident enough to make anything. Well, after seeing this… I think I can do it!!! Thank you for this tutorial 😊💖

OMG, I didn't know you could knit as well!! I've been wanting to learn to knit.... I've been crocheting for over 4 years and love it but occasionally want to learn knitting too. The look is different and learning new things is always fun!! This tutorial gives me confidence that maybe I can do it.... Beautiful hat by the way, just love the colors.

This hat is so beautiful and your instruction so clear and comprehensive that I'm planning to put my big straight needles aside for now and get into the world of circular knitting! In fact, I just bought the same needles you used for this demo since you say it's a good size for hats!
I'm a long time crocheter who has recently taught myself the basics of knitting but so far haven't done much beyond some scarves in the garter stitch and with some simple ribbing. But I'm ready to take on this hat now, thanks to you, Jennifer!

I was absolutely following along it was so easy an detailed. Until it got to the purl stitch, as a lefty I had a hard time learning. An I chose this video because I have the same yarn and REALLY want this hat. But after 2hrs I couldn't get past that purl stitch

This is o cute. Will it fit an adult woman? I’m getting my yarn & needless ready, this will be my first knitted hat. Great instructions and goes slow enough for me to see exactly what’s being done. Thanks.

    Dear Jenmifer,
Thank you for all of your tutorials. You go slow enough that I can just about keeping up since I still consider myself a newbie. I still have not crocheted a scarf yet
But I did manage to make some Winter cowls using the wool ease thick and quick yarn. I really want to make this schawl and a matching scarf and hat
But this pattern you have here is for knitting and I don't know how.
Do you have a hat like this in a crochet pattern.
Again Thank you for your tutorials and being so patient. You do make a great teacher.
This makes it simpler for me being handicapped and homebound.

How many stitches would you say to CO to make a hat for a small child (3 yr old)? I want to make him a hat to match the scarf I made him using the Wool Ease thick & quick yarn?

Great instructions, easy to follow. I just finished the hat. It is huge on me. Much too big. I do think I have a smaller head, but I was planning on making several for women family/friends. I definitely think it needs to be smaller. Any advice?

    • @virginiawilliams9998
      @virginiawilliams9998 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

I found the 44 stitch cast on to create way too wide a brim for my average size head and Wool Ease stretches upon wearing! So I cast on 40. Also the hat was getting too tall so I went to Row 22 and then began the decrease. Sometimes you just have to eyeball the project or make modifications based on something you already own.
This is a great hat and I am eternally grateful to Jennifer for getting me into circular knitting. I love it! ❤

@@virginiawilliams9998 Thank you Virginia for your insights. I am trying another hat now on Sz 11 needles. I am going to eyeball for length. We'll see how this one turns out. I find I prefer knitting with the smaller needle size.
It is a great hat. I also love knitting on circulars!

@@juliechristy7535 You're welcome, Julie! One of my favorite hand knitted hats (purchased) measures about 9" in length, including the brim and excluding the pom pom. I used it as a model for the Hello Winter hat. It's not meant to be slouchy, and neither is the hat we both just made. (Slouchy is a whole other story!) WIshing you happy hat making this winter!

What is the stitch multiple in order to make bigger? I have a different kind of yarn and needle and 44 is not large enough!

When I knit two together, the end result is that I can see a crack that follows the decrease. Help?? 🤔

Oh no, she is crossing over to the dark side, again! I will watch it anyway and maybe pull out my knitting needles, if I remember where I hid them so, I wouldnt be tempted ever again to use them! 🥰
