    Got the same model, same colour and interior two and half years ago with 38,000 on the clock. Excellent car and surprisingly economical. As far as road noise goes, it's not a problem with mine. Although, mine is the 30l S and the tyres are 255x35x20 which can be a slightly stiffer ride on rougher roads and you will not experience that wafting sensation. However when on good roads and motorways the Jaguar shows what it can do and is very comfortable.

    Sorry but I don't understand your comments on keyless ignition. When you get out of the car, if the keys are still in there it won't lock, so it's impossible to forget to take them with you. The small cubby in the centre console is the perfect place to put them. Or one of the 2 cup holders,. Or the larger storage area under the arm rest. Or the door pocket. Or your own pocket. If none of those will do there's also a dedicated slot on the lower right side of the dash. I've never had a problem.

    • @BarrieCrampton

      what about just putting them in the ignition lock, then they wouldnt be as easy to steal either

    There is a key fob holder under your right knee, if you must put it somewhere other than your pocket.

      Yes, MH30R is correct. There's a key slot around where your right knee sits. Very convenient really.

    unfortunately after months of doing research to get one, I could not make myself comfortable in one. I am 6.5ft and the leg room is not enough for me. My Merc CLS has so much more room.

      @@BarrieCrampton unfortunately Im not into SUV's. I also own a BMW 330i coupe and that has more leg room than the XF. My only other option would be to go for the XJ, they have more leg room. Keep up the good work 👍

    Keyless ignition... keep the key in your pocket lol

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i get that, but whats the point of having keyless ignition without keyless entry, you have the key out anyway to open the car door so you may as well just put it in the ignition then its easy to find when you get out and have to lock the car with it, then and only then can you put it in your pocket

    • @DaveWuzHere
      @DaveWuzHere 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I keep mine in my coat pocket and have learned to press the unlock without taking it out of my pocket. Its a BMW 3 series key so its quite chunky and easy to get the right button through the coat pocket.

      Hi Barrie, Have really enjoyed your reviews, shame you have not done any recent ones. I currently have the Merc CLS 350CDI but want to get an XF. However my mechanic keeps warning me that I will get lots of problems with the electrics & DPF Filters. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers And thats open to any XF owners on here.

      Keep the key in your pocket. On the door handles there are black square buttons to lock the car. To open it just pull the door handle it will open if the key is within 3 meters of the car.

    Is there a huge difference in power between the 3 litre diesel Luxury/ Premium Luxury and the 3 litre s version. I believe that there is approximately 40bhp difference. Is this a significance difference. Thanks.

    • @davefrance3721
      @davefrance3721 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My Son has the lower powered V6 on a 2011 facelifted XF, and I have the 2010 s model. He said the difference is amazing when he took mine out. Even standing still he said the engine is much more responsive. I also get slightly better MPG. he has 500nm Torque and I have 600 nm , plus about 50 BHP more.

    Great video, camera positioning is excellent, kept it simple,,, nicely done,, good work. Just one thing, I was listening to the video on headphones, sounds like a lot of road noise or maybe the sensitivity of the microphone? Maybe a little tour around the car both interior and exterior would v been good,, but excellent video overall,, well done.

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for that, there is a link in the top right hand corner of the video which gives you a "full video" of the outside, close ups of everything inside and there is also a 360° Interior video where you can look around your self with your mouse, the sound i am afraid is amplified by the professional recording equipment that i use, but i will have to leave it like that without using any filters otherwise the engine noise and my voice is slightly altered

      There is, its motorised and is used when you battery goes totally flat in the keyfob, so it can read the RFID chip.
      I just keep mine in my pocket.
      Later models have keyless entry, so on my Sons car when he gets within a certain distance, the doors unlock. You do have to get pretty close, which is what I would expect, for security purposes..
