    Leaving a space to hole punch on the side! 🤯 genius! I can sneak in some cutting and get started making a binder of strips for a rainy day project. Awesome!

    I searched for cutting strips on Cricut and your video popped up. I wasn’t looking for quilling strips but this looks very interesting. I’ll have to look into your quilling videos later. I wanted to cut thin strips to use as embellishments on my cards. They are impossible to cut at these thin widths and your template is perfect. I just finished cutting a 5x5 sheet of 1/16” strips to have on hand. Thank you so much for providing this SVG file.

    Thank you so much!! I had bought my Maker a couple of months ago primarily as a compliment to my quilling. When I found out I could cut my strips I was so excited but was so new I couldn't find svg files that worked for me. I'm still working on learning how to make my own svgs so when I got the email about what you did, I was beyond happy!! What are your favorite papers to use for edge work and for everything else?

    • @PaperZenCeceliaLouie
      @PaperZenCeceliaLouie  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're very welcome Dawn! Ooooh you have a Maker!!! What else do you like to make with it? My favorite paper for on edge quilling is Canson Mi-Teintes. It's a paper made in France and you can buy it at Dick Blick, Hobby Lobby or fine art stores. It's not too thick and not too thin, so it handle my larger open arcs better such as for quilled lettering.

    • @dawnbradley8838
      @dawnbradley8838 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PaperZenCeceliaLouie I love my Maker!! I had intended to just cut shapes as backgrounds for quilling but joined Cricut access and couldn't resist so I got the knife blade. I've made earrings out of leather, hair bows out of leather and cloth. Face masks (the easy ones. I don't sew but now I'm looking at sewing machines..lol) I'm working more on cutting chipboard for 3 d stuff. I think the chipboard I have is too thick but I want to try making building with quilled leaves and flowers on them. My favorite thing right that you can do on your explore is shadow box frames out of cardstock. I still have so much to learn.

    • @PaperZenCeceliaLouie
      @PaperZenCeceliaLouie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Crafty Sonali, yes I have used cardstock for quilling. However the projects tend to be larger and more open shapes because it’s harder to achieve small tight coils. I use it for edge quilling which sometimes needs long spans of straight sides. Some cardstock is more suitable than others. Some will split apart if you coil too often. I like using Canson Mi-Tientes 160 gsm.

    I'm a total newbie and came across your channel right off and have been here all day watching your helpful videos! I have a Cricut AE2 so was thrilled to find the svg files you so generously shared. I uploaded the 3mm svg file and it shows it's 12.205" so it wants a larger mat, that I don't have. If I resize it to fit the 12x12" mat, it will change the width, right? Anyway to fix this? Thanks SO much!

    • @PaperZenCeceliaLouie
      @PaperZenCeceliaLouie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Beth, welcome to quilling! And YAY!!! Another hybrid crafter has joined me! So the file you uploaded is meant to cut the strips all the way off both sides of your paper. At the top middle of the screen in Design Space, you will see a section called "Size". Click the lock icon, and it will change to "unlocked". Now you can change the length to anything you want without affecting the width. Let me know if that works for you?

    Could you cut on the cricut joy?

    • @PaperZenCeceliaLouie
      @PaperZenCeceliaLouie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Circut Joy can cut SVG files, but my files are sized for the larger mats. If you know how to re-size for your mats using Design Space, I'd suggest trying it out.

    • @PaperZenCeceliaLouie
      @PaperZenCeceliaLouie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Marie, congratulations on your new Cricut! Yes you need to download the SVG cutting file. Here is the link to get it for free on my site:
      paperzen.ca/products/quilling-strips-machine-cut
      Then you need to import it into Cricut Design Space (sign up for free account). Then follow these steps:
      Log in to Design Space.
      Click the Create New Project button.
      Click the Upload Image button.
      Click the Vector Upload button.
      Click the Browse button and locate your svg file that you want to import.
      The file will be uploaded to Design Space and will appear in the Uploaded Images gallery. From there you can access it and work with it.

      Hi Anita, you will need to adjust the length of the lines shorter than your length of paper to allow for margins, because everyone has different lengths of paper.
