Very useful info. I don't work in a maintenance job, I just wanted to disconnect my gas dryer. I was able to go to the big box store and get the right stuff. When the young man who was helping me handed me white nylon tape, I told him I needed the yellow tape. Grateful to have seen this video.
Thank you for keeping this video up after all of these years. Great time capsule, and evidence on how knowledge is everlasting! This was exactly what I needed for an unused gas line outside my home which prior house flippers never resolved.
Thank you posting this video. We want to replace our gas cooktop with an electric induction. Capping the gas line properly will be one of the most important parts of the job. Thankfully, looks super easy. Thanks!!
Thank you Mr. Ken for this video. I'm glad you and other professionals are here teaching us "unwashed" masses on how to do things like capping gas lines or replacing garbage disposals and such. I'm also glad that you and the others aren't opportunists that prey on people's ignorance on these skills by overcharging them. Thank you again, sir !
Hi thank you so much for the info as I am in maitanence and missed out on some capping job now I feel caught up a little . I appreciate your time and expertise.
This is the first video I have seen from your channel, I liked & subscribed. Thank you for explaining the exact details (need a brass valve, and yellow tape). Another video I watched was as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle. Thank you so much.
Loved video. Yellow plumbers tape for gas is best thing I learned. Would have liked to see procedure on capping very old gas line coming into old gas heater. But, since you work mostly on commercial, I understand the industrial use factor of video. Thanks again for yellow tape tip! :)
Thank you for this concise explanation. I was unaware I need to use the yellow tape (vs the white tape) to cap my gas line after removing the dryer. Thank you!
I am glad that I found this video. The "plumber" I used cut and capped off an unused pipe and after watching this video, I realized he didn't use any tape :-/ We will get that redone!
Enjoy the video, I was going to use the white plumbing tape I had, but you enlighten me on the yellow gas seal tape, good looking out, thanks for that. I’m going from gas to electric dryer. Not sure why wife wants to change, but anyway... Brass gas seal and Yellow Seal tape it is. Thanks
Thanks so much. With the workforce being what it is today, it was so nice to have someone explain how to do this. I am glad I did not buy what was given to me to purchase for the job from my local big box store. It would have been the wrong cap and the wrong tape. The visual was great too. Now I know specifically what I am looking for to do the job.
Thank you for your help - I am in the process of switching out my gas oven with an electric one and just wanted to get a little DIY help - great video clip
Here in the Netherlands the gas rated Teflon tape is white in a red container. So don't go for colour just read the package and make sure it says it's suited for gas
