      The issue here is that she served the ball, it was in, the opponent returned it (full swing of the racket), *then* the ref called fault, and then the returned ball went out of bounds.
      Basically all the important action was over before the ref made his mistake, and the point should go to the serving player and not her opponent. The fact that he was also off by a mile didn't help at all.

    That second one was kind of cool - the referee actually cushioned the fighter's head when he was knocked out. At first glance, it looks like the ref "pretended" to fall down, but it was a deliberate action - he controlled the fighter's head all the way down w/his right arm. He might have prevented a concussion that way (or at least made it less severe). I haven't seen that before. I guarantee that ref was actively training whenever that clip was shot.

    As someone who’s been a referee in football, I can say from experience that it’s a truly hard job to fulfil. There are some tough decisions you make and you don’t get any time to think about it.
    Players have got to realise we’re human too and make mistakes, so just roll with it. At the end of the end, it’s just a game and never forget to have fun. No need to get upset like the women playing tennis.

      I'll accept mistake calls here and there, but consistently bad calls are unacceptable. I've seen a few jomboy breakdowns to see why some calls are bad or not. I'm not a baseball fan so I have no favorite teams. sometimes players try to cheat or bend the rules to their favor and when the calls aren't in their favor, they throw tantrums. Sometimes some calls are situational, so fans join in to cheer or boo the calls too.

      I agree with all of that except "...it's just a game." First of all, it's a dumb thing to say in general. If it's only just a game, you have no personal investment into it. And if that's the case, why play? And in this case, it's even dumber because not only is the personal investment the feeling of competition, pride, accomplishment, etc. on the line, but also the fact that in this video it's these people's job, lively hood, and reputation on the line.

    Doing reffing is tough. When i had volleyball tournaments, teams had to ref. for other teams. I either did the lines or the scores. In the beginning, it was difficult for me but eventually i got it, i did make some mistakes here and there went doing scores which is 100% my mistake, i had the fixed. The parents would get angry which put a lot a pressure on me. It was same with the lines, i had to see whether the ball was in or out. And when i made my call, the parents would get angry with me even though i was right. They would call in when it was out. My coach told me to stick with what i see, and not what the parents see. Even if im wrong. My teammate did that, it was peer pressure. She called out but the parents were saying in. It was out. She was right but then she changed her answer because the pressure she felt from the parents. The worst part is that those aren’t even the hardest parts in reffing. There was a down ref, libero tracker, and someone doing book. I feel like doing book and down ref were the hardest.

      Which was really stupid, the referee was never being racist, he just described him as a black guy in his native language (Rumania) but the funniest part is that none of the players suffered any repercussions for calling the referee a gypsy.

      @@whatisthis999 yes, that's where it started, the players, specially the black guy, who was part of the team's staff was calling the referee gypsy, in a disrespectful and mocking way, that's why the referee showed him the red card and expelled him.
      When the other second referee came and asked who did the main referee expelled, all the other referee said was: negrul de acolo, meaning the black guy there in Rumanian, and that's where the guy got offended and started playing the victim's card.

    • @andyquinn3996
      @andyquinn3996 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@whatisthis999 Funniest part in all of this is that the referee appealed to the UEFA stating about what happened, how they called him a gypsy and why he expelled him, but at the end of the day, only the referee suffered the consequences and the other guy came out free.
      So now a days, if you are incompetent in what you do or just want some attention, all you have to do is play the victim's card and claim racism, misogyny, transphobia, homophobia, xenophobia and you will get what you want.
