Canon Dr. Andrew White (Saturday June 22, 2013)

The Reverend Canon Dr. Andrew White, who since 2003 has faithfully preached a message of Christian love and reconciliation amid the bombs of Baghdad, as he speaks at Harvest Time Church on Saturday, June 22, at our 5:30 p.m. service.
Dubbed the "Vicar of Baghdad," Canon White daily disregards Islamic threat and constant turmoil to deliver the Good News. His church -- St. George's Anglican Church located in the city center of Baghdad -- has the largest Christian congregation in Iraq (6,500 worshippers), of which approximately 600 are Muslim believers. His call to this scarred region has come with great personal cost: His life being an arduous mix of serving God and living behind concrete blast walls with barbwire reinforcement.
