Aren't people wondering why they're just standing there for hours?
@@garysheldonjr8379 That would be true anytime they're in a civilian space. Even when they're not doing so actively.
i dont think this experiment was done accurately
usually i'd be like awwweee but I know a good amount of people in the Army and they're not all about flashing themselves around
Doesn’t matter, they both a serving and they are both strong and amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️(hope your having a great day!!)
Did BuzzFeed overtake this channel?
Why did they use a captain vs a sergeant? Should have used two people with the same rank
Well the mans a captain and she's a sergeant lol
HANHdrew you really think a civvie is gonna recognize that lmao
they already proved this years ago. men said that when they go to the airport people go out of their way to shake their hand and thank them for their service and women said not one person says anything to them
Average Taco Your an idiot, you think a woman combat brigade would stand a chance vs a man one ? Why do women not have same fitness standards ?
I find the woman was standing around more awkwardly though and wondering around while the man seemed to carry himself better. Could be why he got approached more
Honestly the man is just a more impressive looking marine! When you envision a Marine he meets the standard way better...
Colonel Hakeev No, he never said males look tougher. But I think it was more of his pose and gate.
So, yeah, I guess you're right.
I look at both men and women the same. I am in the army and my was in the army also at one point so I understand what she went through. I just hope this experiment was done a little differently with more controlled factors
Men get more appreciation than women because men actually does something for their country.
ARCHIEzzle I believe this is video is biased. For one they have a female NCO and a male officer. I am not familiar with the marine types of uniforms but I think that the female is wearing the Class B blues dress and the male is wearing the Class A Blue-White dress. I personally would treat both men and women in the services equal to one another. But I do believe to some others that appearance does perform some role of standing out in a crowd. Those are just my thoughts, please give me any feedback you have
The guy just looks a lot more approachable
I don't care if you male or female. I don't care if your black, white, Asia, or Hispanic. If your in or have ever been in the U.S. Armed forces, I love and respect you.
This is a BS social experiment how about you pin a Male SGT with a Female SGT not a officer and a SGT you got to be freaking kidding me.
deamonfly6 dude more than half those people don't even know the ranks chill out
Luke H. That don't make it right, higher ranks almost always get noticed more than lower ranks
deamonfly6 bro their ranks have nearly no affect, half of civilians don't know anything about rank you could be James Mattis in Times Square with this experiment and the results would still be the same so chill out man
I can see why the females are adopting our Blues cover, honestly that old one looks like a bag on their head LOL..
The woman just acted wierd... i would feel really uncomfortable around her...
Thank you to these 2 patriotic marines. Doesn't matter male or female, they are still serving. It's good to see these citizens appreciating them.
It doesn't matter what rank or gender I'd walk up to anyone who has served our country whether it's in combat or behind a desk they all contribute to our country at the end of the day.
Combat men and those behind desk can't be the same
Cause even civilians do that...what makes soldiers deserve the highest form of respect is their act of sacrificing and being ready to kill and die for the country in the field
To both the men and women who fight for their country.
Thank you for your service.
Thanks for serving , say that to a man
Thanks for "serving" , say that to the women
It doesn’t matter what rank when it comes to recognition, they both serve.
yeahh its just the fact that the female had to qualify lowered PT requirements....
Female marine probably needs around 3 pull ups lol?
Probably she was a chef there so she "served"
Its only men who kill and die for the country
Thats why war and war cemetaries are always male dominated
No, for generations men gave up their lives for their country. They better get more respect.
As a Marine this makes me happy. I can't believe I'm part of them now.
The Tough guy Yup. Stay out of infantry to any chicks who read this.
I love how they start it off by making it look like the man gets more, but ends up equal
Well first men have it way worse in the armed forces and he's a captain so......
Blakers Awesomeperson this is incorrect. training standards are not the same. Women are treated easier.
Will Swigityswooty they won't let women in the armed forces. so stop complaining about it.
Blakers Awesomeperson wrong, women requirements to join are less than that of a man. For example men have to do pulls ups, while women only have to do the flexed arm hang. Does that sound equal to you? Anyone can hang on a bar for an extended period of time while doing even a single pull up is more difficult than that.
It's understandable that women have it easier due to the physiological differences. The only thing I have a problem is the haircut. A woman joining the Marines should get their head shaven just like the men, and mandatory birth control implant(same for men when it becomes available). Those are my only two gripes.
Emma Taylor lol triggered feminist, men are sent to war because women wouldn't be able to handle it and that's a fact. Think about it, if you were shot who would you want to carry you back to base, a man or a women?
Seeing the them gracefully embrace the public knowing that doing what they do/did made this all possible. Truly heartwarming to see appreciation. When she held that baby, it was an awe moment btw.
I mean he's so good looking....
how to pick up chicks
@@rubberbandman200 You can't deny it still works. Not sure if the reverse is true though?
that woman looked a little chunky to be a playmate
We need to find photos of her before she was a former playmate, because you know, for research purposes.

Just wished civis in the UK showed appreciation like this for us British troops, it's a real moral booster to know you are appreciated for what you do for your country
Well, damn... Apparently, men aren't so damn privileged after all.
Alex G. Men choose to get themeselves in the war and throughout history men have declared wars. You guys just hurt yourselves. Besides since the early notions of war men wouldnt allow women to fight.
Emma Taylor You ever think that it's because women are too afraid to actually face combat?
Women make up 8% of a volunteer only military, that means women don't even want to join.
Emma Taylor woman are cowards when combat happens but I pespect woman who have fought in battels but most woman are weak when combat is on the tabel so men don't want to sign up drafts so your wrong
You people saying that women are cowards, we only just recently got the privilege to enlist. It will take a while for people to put aside sexism and join. You guys aren't helping ethier.
To everyone who has served or is serving thank you for service
It's because he has a cooler uniform and honestly looks more aprochable
On Memorial Day my dad doesnt like it when people thank him for his service, he allways says. "Dont thank me, thank the ones who arent here."
When I was a civilian, all females in military uniform used to impose respect. As a not anymore civilian, I see buddyhood (specifically with female marines and some sailors) since we know what we've been through. Like our sister females company in recruit training, I felt those girls in the heart for the uncommon situations that our companies went through.
The playboy woman who said she would send pictures and items to the servicemen and dude just went "We appreciate that!" lmaoo
maybe because more men have died in battle than women. hell yeah the men do need to be more appreciated
women was only allow in the army in the end of 1900 so it is really not long... so that is maybe a good reason why more men die in the field... and the army even confess that without the women, the army would be nothing, go see at force.ca
+blue Wheels dude I'm french and a army cadet i know more about the military that you will know in all you're life and at least i can talk two language..
+Tom Sellek because i am french maybe... English is not my first langage
Regardless of ranks or genders the fact that they gave their very best to sacrifice everything for the love of their country and the freedom enjoyed by everybody are deserving of respect!👍👍👍
it doesn't matter what gender you are, they have still earned the respect to be called marines and to be thanked for their service
I remember my drill instructor whispering to me “pizza box” when I was shooting on the range
As a non-marine I’d say that the woman looked more stiff, while the man looked more approachable
Females wear the same covers as men now
@@Wisdomisgood448 Agreed. Just because they're military doesn't mean they have to look like men.
Great experiment! Doesn't matter what rank you are in the military. As long as you're in one field to serve the country, men and women deserve the respect!
All respect to our military ❤
I never experienced what she is facing. I’ve always been appreciative and appreciated. It was an honor and still is. Volunteer service for a lifetime of brotherhood. ❤
I'm currently a marine just on leave for 4months and the amount appreciation I get is okay but when I wear my dress uniformallmost everybody comes up to me and does.well what they do in this video!
IT'S A shame how people treat women in uniform.
I have found the stupid side of TH-cam
Salute to both of them, they look so kind and humble, big love and respect for the marines
This shouldn’t be a contest all women and men are equal. Thank you for your service Marines
They should be. Lower physical requirements, less dangerous jobs, no ptsd
Andrew Owens You sound kind of butthurt, brother. Though women cant serve in direct combat roles they can serve in combat support roles like Artillery and Ammo distribution (I forgot what the mos title was for those guys). Women dont have to meet the same physical requirements as their male counterparts because they, on average, physically cant achieve the same feats of physical strength as men can. Its for that reason that women arent allowed to fight in direct combat roles like the infantry. All service members deserves the same amount of respect because there are few people willing to put their lives on the line for the American flag and that goes for both sex's.
+Riki h (TruthSeekerEternity) as far as I know no women have passed the officer infantry course but many women have joined the enlisted infantry.
Thank u both for your service and thank u to anyone else who served
She said I'm a former play boy lmao😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I can't wait to join the army. I'm a 16 year old girl who has applied for the British army. I have my interview on the 9th may. I have never dedicated myself to anything more than this and my heart explodes for the military. I know it's sappy but I have so much love for the men and women serving for their country
buzzfeed?
And btw they're not testing the same people because I bet those people would thank both of them
These counts aren’t really accurate or right. Because you need to do it with the same people. As going back on time and replace the male with female to see the actual result.
Men fight, get ptsd, have the chance of being killed or wounded. Honestly, they deserve more respect.
Not every person that goes to war gets PTSD, dumbass. People who have been raped or have been in car accidens can also get PTSD.
Solis Isn't it ironic you're calling me a weirdo when you think only men and all men that go to war get PTSD and are the only ones that have a chance of being wounded or killed? Go read a book and educate yourself, imbecile, you've made it clear that you need it.
Battle Bone anyone who puts their life on the line for heir country has my respect. They should have yours too.
Rosemary Hofstedt, wasn't a lot of the stories about Jessica Lynch made up?
As a woman Marine I was happy to see the WM get her due as well as the male Marine did OORAH!!!!
Yes, because the men do the fighting, believe it or not.
Emma, it's takes two to make a baby believe it or not, you would know that if you weren't such a eyesore to any man who looks at you.
I treat men and women the same. Thank u both for your service.
6 years in and she didn't even deploy..... thank you for what service?
The fact that she was willing to sacrifice her freedom for ours says enough.
I personally think a man built like that looks more intimidating in my opinion and men have just been fighting longer and women are just now starting to fight in battle
These are both fairly young people so they were probably in about the same time. People aren't just statistics linked to their gender.
I respect all who served in the military
a chick was arguing that men get more apparition than women in the military......then I showed her this.
SyncKo no I think both deserve appreciation even though I know men have been at war longer than women but I believe they both served in the army for freedom!! Just my opinion😊
No matter the gender, age, or race of any veteran they all signed a paper binding them to the oath of protecting and preserving the lives of their fellow men and women.
that marksman badge though
Marksman is the lowest qualification below Sharpshooter than you have Expert.
To all of the fallen brothers and sisters and currently active. Thank you, you will never be forgotten.
men die out in war
Emma Taylor yeah it's not like men have sperm forgot women don't need that. Moron
Emma Taylor men hold the nut so men create live it’s a 50/50 thing stoopid
Male or female in any sort of job should get the same recognition
Maybe because 96% of all combat deaths are men or the fact that almost all combat arms jobs are also 90% men even though all jobs in the millitary are open to women, they just don't want to do those jobs......after saying all this on the other hand, I think women are the most underappreciated people in the millitary and they should get the same respect more often...even though truely some people's service I feel wiegh more than others when it comes to thier respective fields
I would thank both of them and probably ask them if I could give them both a hug
Six years and got to sergeant?!?...
Someone's good at making sandwiches
It usually takes 6 year's to make E-5 Sergeant that was a stupid comment to make on you're behalf.
@@Texasmilitarydepartmentvid9654 even a 4 year contract can make it to E4-5. Not that difficult depending on MOS. Some has lot more competition i guess you can say
My grandson signed a 5 year contract and made Sergeant at the end of his 4th. year.
IDK what the point of this was, the only thing I was wonder is where are the Captain's Shooting Badges?
They should. They contribute to 99.9 percent of combat deaths.
Wait, this a violation of the marine dress code
You can only wear the dress uniform during weddings, reunions, and other special events,
*anger*
Half right. You cant wear the dress blue alphas in public, meaning you cant wear your medals on leave or liberty. Only your ribbons which would be the dress blue bravos. The alphas are only for formal events such as ceremonies, balls, etc
why does a marine have white pants on. I thought they were called "dress blue" please forgive my ignorance but I never have seen white pants in dress blues.
I don't know much about the marines but I thought that the Air Force had blues not the marines
watch the full video, most of these comments where made like halfway through. in the end the female marine actually got more.
I was a little disappointed in the beginning because no one was acknowledging the woman but it changed towards the middle of the video :D great video!
+Katherine Vu In other words, the experimental results went against their hypothesis that the male would get more appreciation so these anti-scientific, pseudo-scientific media whores edited out all footage where nobody acknowledged the male but left some in for the female to pretend their point was kinda right. The female still got more recognition despite being a lower rank and how females are indisputably held to massively lower standards in military positions.
+Katherine Vu ...Basically, Matt said it very well. You really think people "jumped" on the man? Hardly, probably they all had their share of not doing anything for a lot of time... Adding numbers and sounds on the video when needed is quite easily.
blue Wheels Do you have something against women? lol. Women join the military because they want to fight for their country. Simple as that. It is true that men are physically stronger than women, but that shouldn't mean women shouldn't have the right to join the military. That's like saying that men can't be teachers because women are smarter.
Katherine Vu Your comparison is inaccurate. His argument wasn't that women shouldn't be allowed in because they're weaker, but because they don't meet the standards. Your analogy of teachers would only be accurate if:
1) it was true that women are smarter than men in a sense relevant to teaching
2) women have historically been in every teaching role due to teaching credential tests having high enough standards to only allow in women, given part 1
3) you then adjusted your analogy to account for parts 1 and 2
If this were the case, your argument would still fail. In this hypothetical scenario where teaching is analogous to military enlistment, your then-fair analogy would only point out a hypocrisy. It would then be the case that women wouldn't be in the military because they can't pass the test and men wouldn't be teachers because they can't pass the test; it would be ridiculous to argue that men, in this wildly hypothetical scenario, have the "right" to be teachers. I'm a man who is in too poor shape to enter the military. If I wanted to do so badly enough, I'd train myself. If I couldn't, I'd accept that I couldn't get what I want and move on. That's the difference between people like me and people like you: you feel like people should have the "right" to be in positions for which they are underqualified. Luckily your logic isn't being applied to everyone on an individual level or NASA would be filled with 8-year-olds.
+Matt Pieti I can't say anything positive on the internet nowadays without basically being called dumb and listen to a bunch of assholes tell me that women shouldn't be in the military because they aren't as physically strong as men.
I thank of both of these Marines for their service
well we should seeing how women don't do anything in the military
no, my mother and all of my 3 sisters served in the Military. One of my sisters worked in AM and my other 2 sisters where in the Security Forces. They all had hard jobs and worked very hard for their country.
ActivelyFunny I promise you your sisters all worked with men who worked much harder for longer hours and didn't pick up rank as quickly. believe me on this.
I wouldnt give them a handshake......... id give them both a hug and take them both out to eat
You know, Civilians don't give enough recognition to service members. Male or Female. Seriously, 2 hours in one of the BIGGEST cities in the country and only counts of 20 and 18. I think the numbers should have been way higher for both of these heroes.
There is no female or male, it is Marine, but I really like the captain’s commissioned officer dress blues
1 WAS A F'N SARGENT AND ONE WAS A CAPTAIN, CLEAR DIFFERENCE IN THE WAY THEY DRESS AND LOOK.
not trying to be racist or offensive at all. but she looks like valet.
There is no gender in the military. We are all one uniform.
love a women in uniform in fact Irespect them more than civilian women because they have serious guts to go fight a war because not many women do it respect to all those women in fatigues or dress blues
Well,,,, when 700,000 men have died fighting every war for this country it's a little hard to say thanks for serving.
So why does someone who is retired wear a uniform? They are no longer in the service
now do an experiment to see if the USMC gets more respect than the U.S. Army because I feel like they do which is unfair to me
I feel like the standards for women in the military could be higher than males and people would still say women shouldn't be in combat.
6 years in and she didn't deploy? Thank you for what service.
I mean if she's just going to stand there she should smile. Don't get me wrong I don't smile much but she's standing in public.
It looks more like it depends on the type of people walking by not the gender 🤷♂️
Who else thinks that women in military uniforms look just cute and they dont belong there
I'm so proud of how far our society has come
There's no male or female marines, only Marines
Feiyan Ou
I agree
I agree

Feiyan Ou I agree aswell there's no gender difference
EXACTLY, they always say male marines and female marines, trying to stop sexism while splitting everything into male and female :/
