We didn't have such an apparatus so while being at school, I learned it as conCAVE - Looks like a cave. Light reflects inwards. conVEX -Light reflects outwards and just learned all the ray diagrams. THIS IS SO COOOLLLL!!!!! I wish my teacher taught us this way!! :D :D :D
That was so much interactive! I have read them in books, have drawn diagrams, but never got a chance to see that in real life! Thanks a lot for such a presentation!!!
I am from India ... and an entire chapter related to this is included in our NCERT 10th Class Science Textbooks which're prescribed by CBSE ( these ones are the most preferred and widely used Science Textbooks throughout the country because they are prescribed by the Central Education Board to be taught in the Central Schools, so it is very likely that most of the 10th Grade students in India must be studying this right now because it's a imp. Chap. from the Syllabus... And also cuz the Board Exams are near....so maybe that's why it's getting recommend to everyone now ) We have to study 6 different cases of image formations by both concave mirrors and lenses ( each corresponding to objects kept at different positions in front ) and two for the convex ones ..... Recently, Due to Exams being so near ...I was just mugging up the theoretical concept (about image formations by lenses and mirrors) even though with only having a very basic understanding ,... so I could get good marks.... But just then this video popped up and for the first time I watched it happen so clearly .... Many Many Thanks to you for showing this 👍👍👍☺️😊👏🙌 And also I am your new subscriber...
20 years ago, I learnt this in 10th grade physics. Concave and Convex lens. I remember drawing the lines with pencil and point out the focal point. TH-cam didn't exists back then neither any internet tutorial, hell Yahoo!mail took 10 minutes to open, internet speed was so bad. Now, watching this in some practical example is pretty amazing.
Thanks you saved my life with that "walking into the cave" thing. Always forget which one is concave and convex. In my language it's called different, so no direct association, but.. will work just well.
I never understood those diagrams taught in school...thank God and TH-cam algorithm now i've understood them...THIS IS FIRST TIME I'M THANKFUL TO THIS DAMN YT ALGORITHM....
Laws of reflection of concave mirror 1: if incident ray is parallel to principal axis the reflected ray passes through the focus point 2:if incident ray passes through focus point the reflected ray will be parallel to principal axis 3:if incident ray passes through center of curvature it retraces it's path 4:if incident ray strike at pole the principal axis acts as normal
Reminds me of my 10th grade science. This is one of the topic that i never forget and want to draw. I remember that time that's when i still don't know how to use protractor lol
So if it's striking the concave side, it's going into the cave and if it's striking the convex side, it's being... vexed lol. Cool demo, thanks for this. :-)
