This race looks like it would be a bit difficult to get a bunch of good video, with as small as the trails are. Barely room for the riders a lot of the time it seems.
Thanks for taking the time to sign autographs! My kids were PUMPED to make an appearance in your video. Goes a long way in inspiring future generations of MTB’ers!
"Watch out guys, Daddy's primed" Lol Nice response. Great video breakdown Payson. You always do a good job breaking things down for those of us who don't race. It helps me learn what to look for when watching races. Thanks, man!
So good! If Tobin wouldn’t have gone so early, he probably would have won the sprint. Thanks for the coverage, I am a big fan! The race scenery is beautiful to watch.
I’ve done this race for 20 years. Breaking the 3 hour mark is considered a great race time for the age groupers. It’s absolutely incredible watching the lead pros and see the pace and up fire tower climb when most of the citizens, because volume of riders, have to walk up the 5 sets of hills. Certainly appreciate footage and commentary.
I really like these type of videos. Much more interesting than a production type recap of the race. This makes you feel like you are there in the saddle. The commentation is excellent. Thanks for sharing. BTW - I listed to your podcast. Newbie biker here. Trying to recover from injury and get back out there. Good luck on the series!
Fascinating and eye opening to see the race from the sharp end. Thanks for filming and sharing - you have mastered the content creation side of the sport. And best open b-roll of any podcast 😉
Hung out for the finish of The Pros as I finished long, long before them. It was very Cool to see them in person. Loved Dylan's finish and the guy doing the brake show!!
This is the hardest bike race I've ever done, but such a great feeling when I rolled across the finish line. I'll definitely be back for another attempt.
Gotta say Payson did not see anything that looked like single track i,m not giving you hate i really enjoy your content . As an aussie good to see Brendon in mix . Thumbs up from down under mate .
@@PaysonMcElveen does it turn off because of heat? I have a gopro hero12 but it last about 15 to 20 min before it turn off because of the heat and my rides are XCO and XCM so I’m not able to record most of the race
Haha ya based on these clips it does look like I did absolutely no help. I did some turns after Firetower and before we caught Tobin for sure, but guess I was too focused on filming everybody in those last 6 miles 😜
Awesome to hear what’s going on up front! With your platform and the crazy rides you do you should consider doing Judgement day in DFW, 10 trails, 100 miles. @7/21/2025. It can be anywhere from 150-200 miles of driving. A few brave souls actually ride the bike on the road in between. No one has finished to my knowledge. It would make for an epic video for someone if they capture it the way you do and your narration. Hit me up if you’re interested.
I mean, this question demonstrates that you don’t understand the purpose of teammates. Pretty basic concept. Figure that out and the rest will make sense. Quick google search should be all you’ll need.
@@evdb7246 the fact is when you got a teammate in a breakaway ahead of the race you don't do work with the rest of the chase group to pull them back in you sit on the back of the chase group doing no work that way when the chase group pulls you up to your teammate you can slingshot off the front.. I understand the concept well again I've been racing for many years. My question is why is he working with the chase group instead of setting on their wheels you don't work with the chase group to bring back your own teammate who's in the breakaway looks like you need to understand the concept of racing LMFAO 🤣
@@midwesttreasureandrelicrec7914 this is the most insane interpretation of team tactics I've ever heard...and I've raced cat3 for years before upgrading. In almost 20yrs of beer-league, BS amateur racing, your explanation takes the cake. And I've heard some sh*t...
You say you have raced for years but clearly still haven’t figured out team tactics. The whole point of having a dangerous teammate up the road is so others have work and you can sit on. If not why send the teammate up the road to burn energy.
Almost 30min and you didn’t put your nose in the wind once. “Working together” my a$$. The fact that no one came back and got you implies to me that no one considers you a real threat.

Crazy that lifetime racers are putting together better race content than lifetime itself
The lifetime recaps this year have been pretty good. I've been enjoying them.

Love the post race, it shows that real people are racing, not just bikes in a crowd.
Awesome video! These breakdowns are so interesting! 🎉
Thanks. This was better than the official lifetime highlights.
Great video and narration!! Thanks for putting this together. :)
Love these Payson. Great analysis.
You guys make Fire Tower look so easy. I'm breathing hard just thinking about it. Great Video.

Great footage and commentary!
Awesome footage thanks for sharing. I have trails like this where I live.
The final k's were a dirt crit w/ moving pilons. So fast.
Oh and thanks for a nice look at the rear triangle of the new gen RM Element at the finish line😊
what an amazing breakdown video, i really enjoyed it and got an idea to how it feels to be between the pros full gas
Cool video, man you guys were flying.
awesome content. Thanks, Pasyon
Love these! Great riding!!
This was fantastic!!
You guys were FLYING up Fire Tower Hill! I was thinking about chasing y’all with the saw but I can’t run that fast.

I need to learn how to ride my mtb better cuz this looks so fun! Love the video!
Great POV, subscribed definitely an effort to do a video at this point.
Great summary!
“Daddy’s primed boy’s!” 😂
Those are some solid watt bombs up the climb...
Enough to make a grown man cry I tell ya.
Loved this
On a great season 💪
I want this race footage LIVE.
