  • Moto 1 of the 50+ Intermediate class at the 2023 Oregon Old Timers International Vet MX (IVMX) motocross race in Washougal Washington. The track was awesome, my riding was mediocre. I got a bad jump off the 32 rider gate and got bogged down in the second turn and the switchbacks at the bottom of the ski jump, then ran into another rider in the switchbacks on lap two and dumped the bike, going back to 27th. I was able to pass a few riders and work my way back to 20th.
Mark Lutz had a nasty get off on the triple. Hope he's OK, I didn't see him on the track the rest of the weekend. If anyone knows Mark and how he's doing, comment below.
All 5 motos from Albany will be uploaded soon, stay tuned. Check out all the vet mx videos on my channel. Like, comment and subscribe!

Poor guy sending it at 1:46. I hope he's ok.

Yep, not sure if he hit that in practice or just went for it on the first lap of moto 1. Another rider wadded in the whoops shortly after. Nothing on camera but the aftermath, red cross flags and track support scooping him up.

@@1tenner Those get offs were not much out of the ordinary in my teens and 20s but now in my 50's it's quite hair raising to watch. I had one last year which ended up with a bunch of expensive broken parts on the bike and gear plus a concussion. Frustrating part is I don't remember what happened to cause it.

@jasonboche Same, way more injuries in the past. But I've still managed to break an ankle and a bunch of ribs in the past few years. Mark Lutz is the guy that shorted the triple in the video. I hope he's ok and gets back to riding soon. Risky sport, but still totally worth it.

I think he most likely blacked out on the face of the jump. It happened to me a few times.

Yeah, I enjoy sharing the videos. Such a cool track, too bad you couldn't make it. Next year!

I don’t know if a situation where a guy at the middle/end of the pack in a 50+ B race needs to be trying to launch the triple… but he went for it lol

There aren't very many people in this class jumping it. I hit it in this same class a few years ago, but not on the first lap in traffic. It's a big jump with big consequences.

That's what happens when you don't stand up. Your weight and sprung weight don't mix stand up guys

The crash? He didn’t crash because he didn’t stand up, it was because he cased the landing and bounced off.

That guy had no business trying to jump that.

I was wondering if he jumped it in practice or just decided to go for it in the race. The double seems really short, but it takes a lot more speed to get over the triple.

Especially when he decided to go for it when his front wheel is at the bottom of the take off.. what did he think was going to happen lol😂😂
