More Canlander content? YASSS. Multiple LRR (and other) peeps battling it out with Canlander decks brings me great joy, can't wait for the upcoming Showdown. If you're on the fence about hosting another big Canlander tournament with commentary then please do as that is also greatly appreciated! (if logistically viable / safe of course).
Still small enough of a format for me to say that I have missed you at geek fortress Leland. Hope to see you at Puget Sound Battleground this Sinday though. Sincerely, Your favorite green stompy player.
Hey just a heads up that this video didn’t appear in my subscription feed and I’m unsure why. I would have totally missed it if not for a friend putting it in our discord.
Just here for the new channel. Showing support. Like a new lecturer having a small attendance list. Praise be Can LAN duLrr... Now BeejLander needs some love.
Will there be a specific time each Wednesday you guy post N100 showdown? I love love LOVE when yall play Canlander and If it's a specific upload time I want to be able to make time for it!
I remember back when I used to explain to people that EDH was "like highlander, but with 40 life and you get a General". Now Canlander is "like Commander but with 20 life and no Commander".
I was having a blast in this format until my LGS stopped running tournaments. All that remains are a couple of nadu/thoracle players. I get to play the punching bag with my gruul monsters deck. Combo decks are far too consistent with everyone's favorite bird in the mix. Nadu needs to be 5 points.
There is no restrictions on price and such. Play whatever cards as you like. Power nine is legal, like vintage; *good* decks are expensive, like vintage. Thems the breaks, for the most part, but talk with players at your local scene about borrowing decks. Please enjoy this format, it's very good fun - and the power of the Magic, for me, is part of that fun. The problem is capitalism.
There absolutely is. Obviously not going to be as powerful as something packing power, but mono red / medium red are strong without super expensive cards, flying men is a disruptive mono blue deck playing a lot of 1 or 2 mana evasive creatures with cheap interaction as back up. There's probably more but those two decks are very good in the format off the top of my head
Most Canlander Communities are very open to proxying Cards. Nobody expects you to actually have a Black Lotus. Some Tournaments may place a limit on how many Proxies you can run in a deck, but taking the 20 most expensive Cards out of the price makes Decks like 80% cheaper.
Urgent comment!!!! the website in the description is incorrect and outdate!! you need to use the newer website! great video I love canlander please fix!!

Hello! This is here mostly as a reference piece to link from other Canadian Highlander content (like the forthcoming N100 Showdown!).

I'm delighted after having enjoyed like, 140 episodes of North 100 to finally learn what Canlander is.
Yes! We need more Canlander promotional pieces; let's see our favorite format grow!
I haven't checked around my neck of the woods but I would be surprised if I couldn't find SOMBODY that has a deck at this point.
Still small enough of a format for me to say that I have missed you at geek fortress Leland. Hope to see you at Puget Sound Battleground this Sinday though. Sincerely, Your favorite green stompy player.
Might also be useful to say that you are not required to use the full ten points in your deck.
Words cannot describe how much i wish i had a highlander community to play with
actually this is very helpful for me, I'd been wondering what the format was for a long time. thanks!
Never got a group for CanLander, but always fascinated by powerful magic.
Now - I fully expect an April 1st video of LRR's grandmothers playing cEDH
I love watching you guys play this format, and I think im gonna proxy some canlander decks to introduce it to my friends
I cannot wait for these two to get into deck techs and lists!

Im so hyped for all the upcoming N100 Showdowns
I know what Canadian Highlander is, but it's always nice to get a refresher.
I can hear the nudge of Ben when Serge introduce him.
I remember back when I used to explain to people that EDH was "like highlander, but with 40 life and you get a General".

More Canlander. I am down for this, I don’t play myself, but any chance to soak up some content I’m here for.
N100 showdown is all I want from MTG and LRR is giving them to me
The problem with this format is that it isn’t played anywhere outside of Victoria. Which is a shame.
You can play a fair amount online but yeah in person highlander is a little restrictive
I don't understand so what if I want to play hybrid mana?
Was positive this was a reupload of a video that existed already, but then I saw the new table and was confused.
Now this is magic
Given the frequency it appears on Friday Night Paper Fight I'm surprised there are people who still don't know what the format is.
okay now please show me where the magic is gathering, i just can't seem to find it.
Is there a discord, like there is for gladiator, where ppl can get webcam games? And if so, what’s the view on proxies?
YEAHHH THIS IS WHAT WE NEED BABY
this was extremely informative.
Question: Are you allowed to play it on Sacred Ground?
What do you consider sacred ground?
Algorithmic punch!
So if i beat my opponent do I absorb their energy and ascend as a true immortal?
Yes!
That's not ante, so it isn't banned!
Tantalizing midnight upload 👀
Not content for me, but content for someone, so I'm happy y'all are happy! Here's a probably-unread comment for The Algorithm.
Honestly… i wondered this for far too long

Sincere question: is there such a thing as budget Canlander?
Some version of burn, I would imagine. Burn tends to be the cheapest deck in most formats and I can't imagine Canlander is that different.

You can find pretty cheap printers these days

What’s this newer website?
@@LRRMTG Don't know, but I am glad someone reads these this early/late. Thanks 👍

@@LRRMTG The first post on the website you linked literally says 'new website' with a link to the new website ;)
We have updated the links, thank you.
So how many points is Sharazad worth /s. But seriously that's a useful explanation video
But Serge😅 I already love canlander
I'm not sure why, but this video never appeared in my subscribe timeline.
We didn’t want to ping everyone, this is more for linking to from other videos.
@@LRRMTG oh good, so no YT shenanigans , just LRR ones :P
CanLander will always be the best format. Sadly, my bank account doesn't agree with me
Will the new unfinity sticker cards be legal?
ENGAGEMENT!
oh cool i can just add 60 cards to my direct damage deck i have in my closet!
But, why is Canadian highlander better than 60 card singleton? 🤗
I hate shuffling skyscrapers 🤣🤣
Sounds like Australian 7 Point Highlander is more your style 😉
