  • We've been missing performing and connecting with you guys a lot so this is the nearest thing we could do! We have each recorded our parts and here we are patched together for our virtual isolation performance. This is our medley made up of songs from the movie Mamma Mia!

VERY scary tribute level. Clearly the best tribute band to ABBA. Not sure what to say actually. It’s scary.

Fantastic tribute band, great musicians and most importantly both the ladies have close tonal qualities/timbres to Agnetha and Anni-Frid. If I'm being picky, Benny didn't sing the lead to 'Our last Summer', Anni-Frid did, however, I'm sure you guys know that, perhaps done to give the girl's voices a break in concerts.

Hi Hugh thank you for your support and kind words!! Just to let you know the reason Benny sings it here is that this is our 'Mamma Mia' Medley as in these are all based on versions done in the movie Mamma Mia. Some have totally different feels like When All Is Said and Done which we tried to replicate and then merge a little into the ABBA version half way through. So it's a male vocal in the movie. A huge proportion of our audience are young and at universities they know the music mostly from Mamma Mia the Movie actually! So they love these songs and these versions. So we do it like this for them. If we do a song not from the movie like Rock Me they scratch their heads and say to each other.. "What is this?" it's funny I know but at the same time it's great because it has introduced a whole new generation to Abba's music. We do this as an intimate acoustic section in our show where the girls sit on stools and we do acoustic versions with acoustic guitar, piano, bass, drums and 4 vocals. In other parts of the show we we replicate also with Synthesisers, electric guitar and more BVs etc. This is sort of our stripped back sound.

Many thanks for your detailed reply and that now makes sense! I think I've only seen the musicals/film once, so couldn't recall what artistic license was applied to each song. However, your rationale behind performing that way does lend itself to the younger audiences that were initially exposed to these musical and films rather than the original ABBA material.
I grew up with ABBA being a child of the 60's so of course, I'm intimately familiar with how the music was originally released. However, you guys have been pretty smart to present it the way you have.
Final question, I understand it takes time to arrange and learn, but when will you be performing tracks from Voyage?
