Now you'll get calls from other player's wanting their stuff done.
Turned out great
When I wrapped a goalie mask I put a bunch of cardboard around the end of a short 2x4 and then shrink wrapped it to keep it in place to make a “head” to put the mask on, I then clamped the other end of the 2x4 in a bench vice. It worked quite well to keep the mask in one place so I can heat and stretch with both hands.
This is a great idea
How do wrap a round motorcycle helmet by yourself
Chris Bundy with the proper technique and tools almost anything can be wrapped by one person. For a lot of helmets you will want to use the same technique Christian showcases here, some helmets can be wrapped in one piece. Like I said I created a mount for my bench vice to hold the helmet solid in one place in order to be able to manipulate the vinyl the way I needed to for a clean, durable finished product.
It does look amazing. Thanks for speeding it up towards the end of the video.
That is sick 🔥 you really got me wanting to get more into vinyl wrapping
nice job :) you should show us the finish with the grill and others pieces together. And you forgot to put a CK Wraps logo under your wrap ;)
Great video. I'm a beginner. And your videos. Are really helping me learn. Thank you.
Excellent job CK 👍👍. Just for the hell of it, you should get a couple of mannequin heads and mount them to an adjustable stand just in case more people want their sports helmets wrapped.
I Appreciate all you do ! Very well explained easy to follow as all your videos are ! Thank you Sir
This was amazing great video
This video is awesome! It made me try it on my goalie mask and it came out awesome! I now I do a wrap every year on it, just to have something new each year :)
“Amazing” doesn’t begin to describe how this bucket came out. Being an avid hockey fan & former goalie (darn torn ACL & PCL lol), I appreciated this video & you for taking the time to produce & share it, Christian. I’m curious as to how well the material, NOT the wrap job stood up to the pucks, sticks & normal abuse it endured throughout a season.
I'm planning to attempt this soon... If I would have seen this video earlier I would have bought paint instead of ordering vinyl 😂
Amazing job
This helmet came out great.. consider doing more if asked?
Very nice work. Perhaps you could have someone wear the mask while you go to town on it?
I'm just kidding. How about a stationary maniquine bolted down on the ground?
hahahahahahaha the first solution
You should post an assembled pic of it after it's all back together 👍👍👍
Wow...just wow
Nice bro
looks amaizing as allways get manakin dead trap in vice as I looks like your going to need one lol with the amount of teams there are
Great job! I watched your video because i had the idea of wrapping my goalie helmet, but after seeing how a pain in the ass that can be, and me not being the patient type of guy, i’ll just paint it 😅
I would have used the table itself by putting the vinyl wrap in the center of table, which splits in half. This way you could have constant tension on one side so your hands could get the leverage and tension needed to stretch the film over the mask. Great Job even with the obstacles!
I have to do these sometimes with graphics/logos/lettering. It gets tough when you can't have much distortion. Sometimes have to make templates.
Some of the holes in the back are for mounting straps and will need to be cut.
You could have hidden the transition layers behind the cage, would have only shown on the sides.
Nice job!!
🔥🔥👌🏻
So I recently wrapped an atv with black matte carbon fiber from vvivid. it was my first time EVER!😂 it came out decent, but obviously no pro job, I can't find anyone actaully showing fully how they wrap deep curves and such on an atv. I had to do it in multiple overlapping section. it looks cool, but wish I could have done it with less pieces. have you ever wrapped a very curvy atv and if so do you have any tips of perhaps vds on it? Thanks man
Make a helmet shaped wooden form to fill and fit inside the helmet. A extra piece of wood screwed to the form that can be clamped into a vice for stability.
Wondering how well this held up during games.
Hey,
Is the reason you used two pieces of the gray because you couldn't wrap the entire helmet without wrinkles?
About to take this on and want to give myself the best chance of it turning out well!
Have you tried resting the helmet across the corner of a saw horse?
Brilliant work and teaching brother ... Ace ... heavy Dumbbell plates to hold it down bro? ... Would a ceramic coating stop water getting into the laminate in the epoxy carbon ? ... Peace 💙
I know this is an old post but what I usually do when I'm vinyl wrapping goalie masks where there is something like the carbon fiber or printed vinyl that needs extra protection is an overlay of clear vinyl. Helps to hide the seams some and makes the wrap WAY more durable. Bit more work but it's 100% worth it in the end.
seems like it would be easier if you had some 'pre-cut' pieces to start with
Great job! I feel it would have been easier with another person holding the helmet for you.
Hahah!!! Hell yea bro! Fucking tuff!
Did this man just wrap a neck guard? 😂😂😂
How is the name of this color????
I wish you didn’t speed it up. I would have loved to have seen more of the techniques used.
Dude get a friend to help hold it down next time would have helped tremendously. There's just certain things you can't do alone. Glad you accomplished it but work smarter not harder right.
Wait! ... 13:37 Fu*k 😂
Should of just put it on your friends head then wrapped it might of helped lol if nothing less would been funny come on Christian u gotta think out side the box lol
Took as long as wrapping half a car to wrap that mask
Good vid. Music was ass tho.
hah Jokes on u!!! doesnt look easy.....
Man, if only you had a tripod, the camera man could hit it with the heat gun while you stretch it out 😭
