    When talking about high speed stability and lateral winds, I must say that I drove a 2018 Ford Focus and also a 2013 VW Jetta at high speeds in Germany on the Autobahn and it was windy. In the Ford , at 120km/h i got scarred because it was very unstable especially when the wind was blowinf from the sides. In contrast, Jetta, at 180km/h, with all the wind, was feeling very safe. So, in my opinion, Jetta has a better dynamic than the Ford. Also, Jetta has the multilink rear suspension (independent suspension). The steering is indeed strange.

    I bought 2015 black se tsi in January and have not regretted it. I don't even have the nav system, just the cd w/ satellite radio and blue tooth. I don't find it boring at all. I like the exterior styling and I drive up an down I 95 at 80 to 90 mph to work every week and it's great. I can understand why some people would think it's boring though. It's not as gaudy and full of flashy space age looking tech like some other cars in the class are. The things you criticize are not important to me at all. the engine is great, it's not as exciting as my dad's old rabbit back in the day but i find it a fun car to drive and I love the exterior. I only wish i could have found a manual like I wanted in my price range. VW is kinda of like Harley Davidson, your either a die-hard fan or you hate them.

    Dude the jetta is a perfect car, so many of the things you said weren't just plain wrong!
    First, the car is massive in the back, i 6 foot tall and i got in the back with my taller brother and cousin and we were actually comfortable, the old model had hidden boot hinges and had a full size tire in the back, plus folding the seats is easier in the old model and the seats used to go almost all the way flat, its pretty quick, fast response and 10 times more nimble than the massive, slow, wavey ride of the passat which my dad owned at some point...
    Look i understand that as a car guy you're all about porsches and shit like that but at least be objective while testing a car!!! Saying that its boring would be kinda fair but you went all out and just shat on the car

    I don't agree with putting the car in neutral when lifting up, it cancels the engine breaking. Also the ECU of modern engines cut the gas when you lift up, so why using these feature with the neutral position of the gearbox.

    • @MarekDrives
      @MarekDrives 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alin Marius Take it up with VW engineers. I know 10 years ago they said leaving the car in gear is more efficient, but now they say neutral is the way to go. Anyway, you can switch this feature off in the on board computer, and then you are left in gear.

      I didn't know Jetta had haters or lovers. It's a bland sedan.

      With all due respect Marek, i understand a lot of effort goes into making these videos but I hope you realise that you spent a great deal of the video complaining about a "boring" car. Firstly, comparing this to the Golf is not the best thing to do simply because a lot of people would want the extra space (in the cabin and in the boot) of the Jetta. That apart, this segment has far worse cars than the Jetta (in terms of looks and value) and I shudder to think what words you would use if you reviewed them. That being said, handling dynamics of the Jetta are mostly alright considering we have softer suspension setups in cars like the Elantra. There was a pathological hate towards the car right from the starting of the video. For me, the review ended there. I hope you take most of these comments as constructive criticism.

      Adityaraj Dutt It is my right to express an opinion that a compact sedan is boring, and Jetta is the equivalent of a white good (no pun related to colour intended). It's made by accountants for people, who do not enjoy driving. And I know there are many cars far worse than the Jetta (I think I mention that at the end), and I consider them almost as boring. Though Jetta is the most boring, because there's not even something particularly wrong with it.

      I can completely understand that, Marek. But what I think you should truly take from this video is that you didn't get this very message out there properly. The like : dislike ratio speaks for itself. Although it's funny how I can understand you're saying, a sedan to a hatchback comparison is just wrong. Cheers to your TH-cam career.

    Boring? The interior and exterior is a million times better than a honda civic. Now that's an overrated boring car.
