10x10 is a perfect size for a first time vendor!
A suggestion would be to take at least one pitcher away from the shelf. I also would suggest decorating the top of the bookshelf. Have something trailing down the side of the shelf. Another must have plenty of change, have a credit card machine and have a person there to help you! Setting up at different events in my area was 1 of my favorite things to do! ❤

Since this is your first vintage market I would stay with 10x10. You will have backup inventory to refill for all the days. You really need to minimize your costs and especially your buy in prices for inventory. Take time, think it through and break out costs including all the time you’re already putting in. Is this show indoors or outdoors where weather could be an issue? Look forward to hearing how it goes.

I think 10 x 10 is perfect, especially for your first market. I would pay the extra $50 for 2 openings, that setup always worked best for me when I was doing vintage markets. If you don’t follow Laura Caldwell with LeftCoastVintage, I would highly recommend her! She has a TH-cam channel & has done a lot of vintage markets! Make sure you consider having enough inventory to be constantly restocking as things sell. That was one area I learned the hard way on! People like booths that are full, so be afraid to put a lot out. I am sure you will be a natural at the vintage market! I can’t wait to follow your journey! I had my own business for years which was basically helping people set up their vintage booths, whether it be in a mall or at a market. I also sold vintage wooden crates & built display cases & furniture out of them.😊

A thin white wax application does a great job knocking down the orange on a piece of furniture. You really just want it to stay and hang out in the grain to reduce the orange of the whole piece. Apply in small areas, wiping it back off as you go. Works great on oak. I hope the vintage market goes really well for you!

When I sold my paintings, it worked well with my essels. I didn't have panels but it could be asset to u if u could build 2. You have a great start on filling your book shelf. Remember the rule of 3's, 5's and 7's - odd numbered arrangements are pleasing to the eye (which you've done already). I would recommend addin a few more things as well, maybe just small things. Keep them looking full and it's easier to spread out as things sell. IMO I would not place your shelves or bookcases on the edge facing out. If it's busy it is too easy for things just to "walk away". I am a retired retail managers with lots of years building vignettes and show cases. You have a great eye and some experience with your booth already. Trust your eye and your instincts and you'll do great.

The more smalls you have the more chance you have for making money. I believe you said your market is in November? People go to these markets for holiday items, Christmas and Thanksgiving. your staging of the bookcase has either an item on the left and an item on the right or a grouping on the left and a grouping on the right and the center is empty. you need to change that up on some of the shelves and get rid of the perfectly straight vertical rows you have created.

I think you need to price things a little higher than you think (I think your nightstands were worth more than you sold them for). You can always mark down the last day or take offers - but you have to remember to add something for your time to curate these items. 22:00 that basket on right is so large so perhaps should be on bottom....or even very top to utilize that shelf or a picture and the swans.. Same with pitchers, the larger at bottom then medium in center and smaller up top. The very top could have those nesting baskets and one turned on it's side. Plus you have white all heavy and larger pieces on one side of sll shelves.

10X10 sounds perfect. I would not put any book shelf facing out. You need to see what is going on within your booth. Your bookcase is on the right track for decorating, but the bottom 3 shelves each have 2 items and the items are all placed in exactly the same place vertically. I hope that makes sense and I know you are just testing the decor. Some stacked books, maybe 3, with decor on top or cloches of different sizes with items under them on top of some books. Draping a chair with a quilt or blanket type item. Also as you said in the video, greenery is very good. By the way if you use books you don't need to sell those, just use for display purposes. I love the books with hard bound covers and gold embossed titles and scrolly designs. Wishing luck with all your choices.

This is just a thought; could you put your bookcases facing in and hang pictures on the backs of them for people walking by? If you could figure a way to hang them without putting holes in the back of your bookcase, that would be utilizing the space on both sides. Wish I were closer. I would totally stop by your booth and say, hello. I wish you lots of luck and fun.

I think a 10 x 10 is going to be efficient as far as opening up the booth. I would I would suggest that you leave at least two sides close so you can hang your artwork. I don’t know about stuff facing out. We had a booth at a place here and it was basically a big L shape, but it was a space was a lot larger. Also we had stuff facing out, but we made sure, you know that everything could be visualized good luck

You need some vintage doilies or scarfs placed under a few items and hanging over the edge. Also try layering some items.....Plate or platter flat then a bowl on that and even a third layer if need be. Elevate items. VIntage boxes in different shapes to elevate some of the smaller items. The top could have a larger item also with someting draping down like vines. Steph from "Little Blessed Nest" decorates her hutch for ever holiday/season/occasions and is a master at it! Add some soft stuff-vintage tablecloths, Pendleton blankets, etc. The top of your bookshelf can give you a great space to add something unique, which would be easily visible down an aisle. LOVE the idea for walls, or curtains acting as walls. Also love the styling. It makes me expect high prices, because there’s breathing room, and restricted colour palette. I vote for a larger space, so that you could curtain off some of it if you didn’t want to style and manage the whole space, but use for stocking extra stuff.

If you’ll be adding temp walls, you could add a “ceiling” if allowed. Lattice works well. Even if you use it for ambiance only, it’ll add to your booth. Baskets look nice with vintage cookbooks, or vintage linens. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Please try not to over fill your booth. It’s ok to stack night stands and end tables if they won’t damage one another or even display vignettes on top of furniture just make sure that there is room to walk. Consider putting lighter weight items like baskets on top of the bookcase. You can always move them down later when there is more. Good luck with your booth.

The cheapest I came across was $99. Too bad you don't live in the Netherlands, I have quite a bit of vintage that I want to clear out. I would look up that picture you got for 30 dollars. With that picture looking so old and the paint turning green, and the back of the picture with the original frame it could be worth a good amount of money. That seller who was hesitant to sell to you and was wanting almost at least 50 dollars, she knew it might have been expensive. This is just some advice, do what you will with it. Look that painting up by the original painter's name on it, or the picture itself.

If you can swing it, I would go for the 10 x 20. Give the room for things to breathe, room for a cash/wrap station, and all the shoppers.

Love all the small items! I think they are arranged in two vertical lines and that’s why it’s not quite looking right. It’s too symmetrical maybe?

I've been doing shows for several years. 10x10 is TINY if you are doing furniture. I would do 10x20 and get a corner if you can. Corner units can give more options for creating good flow and increases shopability.

Agree!! But it’s just me so I worry I won’t have enough furniture in time to be really full

Corner booths are coveted but experienced sellers can handle the two open sides and extra people from 2 open sides. I've seen one person handle this by hanging beautiful textiles halfway up and it felt like I room not a booth.

The general rule of thumb is you should at least be able to double your money on every item you buy .... so if you are spending $30 on something make sure you can guarantee you can sell it for $60 ...... start small and build up a new market ..... what was good then may no be good now .... watch flea market flip she always have great stuff and that can help you on idea and such ... but I an sure you will do well and wish you the best of luck ... keep us up to date

I have had a booth at a vintage pop-up market for quite a few years now. I started out doubling the price of the item I bought and that is absolutely not enough. The bare minimum should be triple your cost but that should be your starting point you make all your money at the time of purchase not at the time of sale, remember you’re paying a booth fee, possibly commission on what you sell, and then they cost of the item. Simply doubling it does not give you much profit at all.

Exciting news!! Can’t wait to see you prepare for the market! I think the cost of the smaller booth will help maximize profits. Also Consider the location when you select the booth configuration- would the endcap spot expose you to more foot traffic? Verses being in a corner, etc. Best wishes!!

10x10.. and I wouldn't have items on shelves facing out too open areas,to many blind spots for pilfering, also minimise the availability of multiple exits again too much opportunity for theft you can't watch all the exits all at the same time..Arrange mirrors on shelves and walls to look decorative and for sale but also to highlight blind areas so you can glance at a situation that looks suspicious.always be aware that while someone has got your attention there may be someone else waiting to run off with something. I know it's a horrible way to think but believe me ..if they can they will.. even a simple thing like a pen and paper or tape measure while your looking for those someone else might be up to something good luck though it'll be exciting and tiring all at the same time..❤

Oh Sweet Girl, you have to stop cutting corners like not painting the underside of those shelves if you what to be known for good merchandise. People see those mistakes and walk away without really checking out the rest of the booth. You have so much in you!!!❤

I feel a 10 x 10 space might be too small where you can’t lay out your stuff in a nice way, might look overcrowded and not as visually appealing to the people shopping. Versus the 20 x 20 will give you more space to display your stuff nicely and have some room for customers to maneuver.

Also remember that you have to take into account the entire mechanics of the “wall”. So you will lose however many inches (total feet) for the stand for the wall(s).

10x10 for sure. Also, you have items on the bookshelf set up in two columns (top to bottom) - add a third column or vignette on a few and it will look better.

I'd say get the 10x10 honestly, considering it's your first might as well start more conservatively and if/hoping all goes well next time ramp it up.
I'm curious and excited to see how things go for your little market. The turtle is fantastic, the picture does look really nice and authentically old! I wish i was creative enough to do this but im too judgmental and hard on myself, it's nice getting to live that side of myself through your content :)
