- The 14-year-old suspect in a shooting at a Georgia high school that killed four people will stay in detention as his lawyer declined to seek bail at a Friday morning court hearing. After the hearing, Colt Gray was escorted out in shackles at the wrists and ankles in khaki pants and a green shirt.

I lived in the 3rd world during my youth, and the education was ..sporadic, if the teachers wanted to show up, they did, if not......long hours of vagrancy for us. If he is a public defender employed by the state then he has no choice. If he is assigned to defend a person he has to do so or quit is how I understand the public defense attorneys.
I don't get too far into that because in our system, someone HAS to do it. Whether it's a private lawyer or public defender. That lawyer may not be a bad person, in that position you basically have to separate your own personal feelings and do the best job you can for your client.

There going to submit a plea of not guilty until the defense attorney and prosecutor work up a plea deal worth avoiding trial over. They know there is no chance he’s found not guilty but I have to assume the prosecution wants him sent immediately to a state or federal prison but the defense probably won’t agree to a plea deal until the offer to let him do the first 3-4 years in a juvenile institution. Problem with throwing a 14 year old in gen pop in prison is risking suit on the back end. Unfortunately, this is exactly what happens when we fail to value human life. We have past leaders condoning violence against others who don’t support them or like them. We also have others who choose to believe that murdering an innocent, unborn child is another’s right all while calling said child a fetus, which is Latin for child.
