Gorgeous scenery! You can tell you're near Buckhorn by the size of some of those trees!!

Maybe that could have been the foundation for an old fire lookout. It kinda reminds me of the same thing you see on mt. Islip right above little jimmy campgrounds

I concur. During WW2, the Japanese were launching balloon bombs and it could of just been a short term fire lookout for the duration of the war. Some of the information about the balloon bombs were kept secret and the media was asked a number of times to not print and announce reports of sightings and occurrences. They did not want the Japanese to know of any success. I am just speculating...

I’m not sure, but I agree with others. It’s probably a fire lookout. If you climb to the top of Mt. Gleason, you’ll also find a stone structure without a roof. Hopefully, someone posts a definitive answer.

I couldn't find any information on Peak 7118 and still waiting if anyone knows exactly what it was! I love this area and want to spend the night in that creepy area lol!

Strange noises? Could they be the cooing of an awesome and winsome lady vampire, waiting to give you the Gift of Eternal Life?? That's what I'd hope!
