Hi Paul, I’ve fitted my Dapol light bars and found out the first class seats are a warm orange colour which reflects back a warm glow if you know what I mean rather than cool white on my second class carriages or in my case blue seats which gives a cool white but are the same lamps. So ignore my first question as I say I’m new to model railway 🤔
Hi Phil, I used the ESU warm white decoder light bars in all the coaches. As you say, the colour of the interior makes a difference to how the lights look. An advantage with the ESU light bars is that each one can be adjusted electronically (via CVs) to dim them down, which assists with getting a good balance of light across the coaches. The rake is as you say apart from a TGS.
Were did you get them sound decodas for your InterCity 125 as it is excellent I'd like to get my hands on the decodas for myne as I myself have as sounds absolutely brilliant like the real I am as I have heard where I used to live I wasn't to far from the east coast main line and the first time I heard the intercity 125 in its original blue and grey and yellow front like your model and the reason I was asking where you got the sound decorders as I would love them for my dapol hst InterCity 125 blue and grey and yellow front ends
An absolute brilliant sound I'm not being funny but the sound file on those decoders are so much better than what is available in oo gauge versions. How much would it cost to sound fun a set of n gauge hsts if I can ask. Peter
Hi, I’m new to model railway and I’m just putting the Dapol light bars in my first class coaches . I just wondered the 2nd class lights look brighter than the 1st class coaches code 041 ,I think which is the 70s BR warm white leds or are they all the same ? Yours look so realistic ..... sound too . Also for the coaches is the running order 2x1st class ,1x buffet and rest 2nd class? Great video of the iconic train you have give the Hst125 a fantastic representation 👍
Hi Matt, the cost would be the price of the box set (using Hattons as an example for current booksets) plus £185.00 for the DCC sound conversion to include sound decoder, speaker, sound file, installation and configuration. Cab light with driver can be added for £20.00, the DVT would be £30.00 for the DCC decoder plus install. If cab light and driver required in the DVT it would be £55.00 to cover the cost of the aux board and additional work. Coaches in the bookset can be converted to DCC lighting for £35.00 and additional coaches would be £60.00 for the coach, lighting decoder and install work. P&P £11.00 using RM special delivery. All prices quoted include vat at 20%.
Ok... The fluorescent light flicker. Now that's a cool feature :)
I want one!
Well you can still have one. Lead time is currently about 8 weeks 😊

HI Anthony, the sounds on this one come from a pair of Zimo decoders and sound files available from John at YouChoos.
An absolute brilliant sound I'm not being funny but the sound file on those decoders are so much better than what is available in oo gauge versions.

Thanks for your kind remarks Phil, much appreciated.
Only one headlight lights up on my power car is this a fault?
Not necessarily, some liveries have only been fitted out with one running light.
@@fouldsp Thanks for your reply Paul, I have two Hst sets and both only have 1 headlight. Really lovely models.
@@EM-yk1dw I think the GNER, GWR and EMR sets only have one light as standard, not sure about others.
@@fouldsp Thanks Paul
