For anyone wondering about the math for average number of clues required to complete 3rd age collection logs: This is a case of the "coupon collector's problem". It's hard to finish a collection log because you're much more likely to get a duplicate when you're close to finishing the log. The expected number of rolls/coupons collected grows at a rate of n*log(n). For hard clues there are 13 3rd age items, the chance to receive any of those is 1/3250 and the expected number of rolls needed (coupon collector) is ~41.34. Together, the expected number of hard clues needed is ~134360. For master clues there are 10 3rd age items that are not also in the hard clue table, the chance to receive any of those is ~1/5219. The expected number of rolls needed is ~29.29. Together, the expected number of master clues needed is ~152877.

With third age, you shouldn't be able to get dupes. It would be a nice concept for those of us trying to complete the collection log. Currently 1117/1674 ❤
Well seeing as RS Chronicles just showed some guy did in fact green log hard clues, I think it's not impossible. Just a matter of waiting. Odds are it will be a generational thing and passed on from child to child until it is eventually completed!
To explain this first let's imagine having to roll every number on a dice. You wouldn't expect to get all numbers by the 6th roll right? It would be pretty lucky to not get duplicates. Now, let's say you just need to get 1 and 2. How many rolls? Well it takes 3 rolls to get either 1 or 2, but now if you roll the number you already rolled that doesn't help, so it is gonna take you 6 more rolls to get the other one, a total of 9 rolls is the expected amount of rolls. It is 6/2+6/1, if you wanted to also get a 5 it would be 6/3+6/2+6/1 = 11. This is because you need to get one of them, then one you didn't get before and so on until you get them all, so your odds of getting a new item decrease with each new item you get and to get all the new items you need to be in the situation you got all the items except one, to get there you need to get all the items except two, etc, etc, get an item except the one you got and start by getting any item. So the expected value is 211250/13+211250/12...211250/2+211250/1 (there are 13 pieces, each with 1/211250 odds). This means you need an average of 671803.2558 rolls, which is an average of 134360.6512 caskets.
If it takes 134,000 hard clues at 10 per hour we're looking at 13,400 hours. If you play 8 hours per day for even 200 days per year then you'd get all 3rd age items in 8.375 years. Could be even faster with the right luck. OSRS has been out since 2013 so 11 years already. It's possible we see someone with all log slots in the next 3-8 years.
let's be honest, if someone did complete it, they probably wouldnt be getting many of their 3a pieces from hards at all. Massive master grind and then elites and hards to fill gaps.
They should remove clues from collection log. Maybe have a separate log just for clues so its actually possible to complete it. Also they should remove pets.

30 years, 8 hours a day. Lets gooooooo.
With third age, you shouldn't be able to get dupes. It would be a nice concept for those of us trying to complete the collection log. Currently 1117/1674 ❤
Knowing jagex they probably made it easier after watching this vid
Well seeing as RS Chronicles just showed some guy did in fact green log hard clues, I think it's not impossible. Just a matter of waiting. Odds are it will be a generational thing and passed on from child to child until it is eventually completed!
He green logged the hard clue section, that doesn't include mega rares like 3rd age. I would love to see someone finish it one day though!
It hurt my soul when I pulled gilded….
Only reason it’s obtainable is cause you can get 3rd age from mimics
To be fair the third age unlocks in all tiers no matter which you completed it in.
Since there 5 rolls a casket on average shouldn't it be like 1/42k for all 3rd age
The time it would take to open that many caskets alone…..
70,000 hours is about eight years of in game time. Technically it’s possible over decades
That sir, is not impossible, that very likely to be done actually with our community.
You could get every piece of third age in 13 hards
Me over here rocking mithril at level 90 cuz i like blue
I bin playing the game 23 years I have done tons of clues over the years I have never got 3rd age
So where are people getting the "70.000 hours" from
They all have the same drop chance per hard clue though…
let's be honest, if someone did complete it, they probably wouldnt be getting many of their 3a pieces from hards at all. Massive master grind and then elites and hards to fill gaps.
I think you should use expected value
Some one with no life will rise up and claim this bounty. I promise.
They should remove clues from collection log. Maybe have a separate log just for clues so its actually possible to complete it. Also they should remove pets.
They say 10000 invested into learning a skill can make you a master. Or it can get you half a collection log in osrs.
Maikeru is rapidly approaching your location
I got the 3rd age plate legs around 130 clue scrolls now I'm around 900 and lost all hope
