Lymm 1st XV Vs Ilkley 1st XV

No games at the zoo on Saturday so a little trip up the M6 to watch @lymmrfc

Nice to see old Sandbachian James Kimber was in action for Lymm at 13 with some dominant running and strong defence.

An entertaining game with plenty of skill on show, both teams looked to play at a high tempo and Ilkley flew out the blocks dominating the early exchanges. The sideline grumbled of a potential upset however once Lymm went ahead they never looked like losing.

A dominant second half blew the visitors away with some well executed, multi phase set piece play ending in some fine scores. The best sadly brought back for a mysterious injury to a Lymm player who made a miraculous recovery! .
My personal MOM was 9 Tom Shard - He controlled the game well, kept Lymm on the front foot with some pinpoint box kicks and quick tap penalties. He was closely followed by 2 Adam Bray who lead from the front and was involved in everything putting in a true captains performance! Special mention to 15 Cormac Nolan missing just one kick at goal in very tricky conditions.

A fantastic set up at Lymm - A new 4G pitch coupled with the old school clubhouse giving it a proper Rugby club feel.
