Ranking Danganronpa Executions Worst to Best... AGAIN!

- 4 years ago, July 2020, I ranked each Danganronpa execution from worst to best and it was my most successful TH-cam video!
I decided to re-make the video 4 years later, since my opinions have changed since that video. Additionally, I thought this would be a great send-off for the Dangnaronpa series on this channel.
This is my first "true" TH-cam video since 2021!

Actually no, it’s revealed in chapter 6 that Kaito was poisoned by Tsumugi for the plot.

One thing about Celeste and Teruterus executions which I feel is worth mentioning is that they both tried to embody high class attributes, (Teruteru with fine dining and Celeste with her entire persona) however they’re deaths are unglamorous, Teruteru got turned into fried food, the complete opposite of posh meals he liked to cook, and Celeste who dreamed of an extravagant death was close to being burned alive (which is a pretty extreme death) only to be hit by a vehicle which is the most common form of unnatural death.

I don’t remember where it said this but I’m pretty sure Tetris was the only game Chiaki wasn’t able to beat so I find is kind of cool how that’s the thing to kill her 😅
It was during her free time events the only game she was never able to beat was tetris and when drv2 came out tetris was yet to be beaten no one even made it to the glitch levels at that point.
Something for Chiaki's Execution, is that both her and Real Chiaki both ran into a fake exit + cared more about someone else (Real Chiaki is Getting Back To Her Friends + Chisa while AI Nanami is Usami/Monomi). So that can be a connection to anime Chiaki and Game Chiaki
I still remember seeing that original video while it had double digit views. Hard to believe its already been 4 years.
Fun fact: Kaede's execution had foreshadowing like crazy, like the piano having details for future murderers (thorns, bugs, spaceship and cat plushie)
Hearing you talk about Gonta's execution makes me wonder what would've happened if Monotaro and Monophanie had died during Kiyo's execution instead of Monodam. Maybe Monodam would've stuck up for Gonta the way Monotaro stuck up for Miu; or rather, he'd be standing against Kokichi, as he's encouraging conflict rather than getting along with everyone, just as Angie did. And by standing against Kokichi, he'd be unintentionally fueling Kaito's anger and desperation to defend Gonta. Then, when Gonta gets executed Monodam would attempt to rescue the one student who wanted more than any other student to get along with everyone, only to end up getting killed in the process. Maybe we'd lose the gag of Monotaro viewing Miu as his "mommy" but we'd be trading that off for Monodam being recognized as "the best Monokub"! ... and we'd all be spared from that stupid incest plot.🤢 (We really should've been done with that after Kiyo's death.)
fr why did they feel the need to add 2 separate incest plots and countless hints of incest in v3
Honestly Dangandevs making it so that Makoto and Kyoko as Shaking in their final moments (and fake final moments) is actually so realistic, which lowkey makes it more grueling to think about
my guy gonta got stung by multiple wasp, impaled in the middle by a huge wasp and THEN BURNT.

It takes place in a virtual world similar to DRV2. Miu plots to murder Kokichi in this world, however Kokichi overhears her.
Meanwhile, Gonta made a mistake entering the virtual world that causes him to not remember anything after he leaves it. Kokichi, using the secret of the outside world that he has learned, convinces Gonta that the best case scenario for everyone to die, and for him alone to bare the burden of what's outside. Kokichi as such convinces him to join a counter plot to murder Miu, with Gonta becoming the blackened.
Since he loses his memories of what happened in the virtual world, during the trial he doesn’t even know that he is the one who murdered Miu.
People say that kaedes execution took longer than expected because she had a chance to breath everytime she put her feet down
I agree but to be VERY honest, realistically, it probably took around 10-20 minutes. The people that say 4hours are bsing, because it implies that the WHOLE CAST stood there for 4hours, which is insane. And the clock behind the execution isn’t rlly accurate because it could have easily be altered to fit the pacing of the execution.
I just thought the vines and memes for the numbers were just a joke until I realized they were to represent the characters
I think leons is my favorite just cause of the realism, and also it factors in the brutality of dying to something you hate (since leon didnt like baseball)

@@jsksosjsjjwksls he warms up to it in his free time events but when you first meet him he talks about how much he doesn't like baseball, practicing it, all that kinda stuff and wants to be a musician instead
He didn't want to be remembered as just a baseball player, but his execution made it so he's remembered as a "baseball player that died from baseball" instead of what he wanted to be
Cool point, I forgot that baseball was something he didn't really have much of a passion for!

When i first watched all DRV3 execution. I WAS SO CONFUSED WHY THE FUCK IS MONOPHAINE GIVING BIRTH- 💀💀

Apparently, the one game Chiaki couldn't beat was indeed *Tetris*, so kinda ironic that the game ended up being the actual death of her
I just wanted to spend some of free time events with Mikan and she revealed to me that she has a fear of oversized objects so having her blast it off into space on an oversized arm and have an injected with an oversized syringe is quite fitting to her fear of large objects
For Gonta, Monotaro had a child with Monophanie during the chapter. The reason why his execution is brilliant? A bug caused the murder, and a bug ended the execution. They're also technological bugs, which Gonta does not understand even though he loves bugs. That's despair.
Nice observations! The monokid stuff definitely brings the execution down for me but I think the despair factor for Gonta was extremely good
One of the most fun parts of this video is watching the gifs before the ratings and guessing which one is which 😭Overall its a great rating though!! I'm glad you considered symbolism more as that makes some of them just that much better

also youre able to hear something that isnt in the rest of the executions, when in the game, you see the baseball with blood roll over you can hear "oh peace" being said in arabic three times.
for kaedes, it suggest she was innocent.
BUT IN LEONS CASE, he just used self defense instincts and BEFORE you say he done it on purpose, if you have watched the animation, celeste says smth about if leon left her alive, she would tell everyone about what leon did to her. respect to 11037😭

@@goofybrokechild Also I wouldn't say the executions are the same. Kaede doesn't get hit by 1000 baseballs. She gets HUNG ON A ROPE FOR 8 HOURS. Actually yeah. You're right they are both the same in plenty of ways. They both begin with being dragged by a chain, both Extremely painful to watch, and both leave you paralyzed if you somehow survive.

One of the things I observed is that because the DR3 anime was released way after GD game, it's quite inconsistent when it comes to Chiaki. In game we know she's an AI, NPC character placed in the program to watch over the students and there is no hint she was ever real. Plus when you find the student book in Nagito's cottage, Monokuma specifically says he had to alternate it so the traitor is included, meaning that Chiaki has not been in it. Which mean originally she was only supposed to be the AI character, because if the creators planned her whole background story, this would be a bs, since she would be part of the student book, she would just have some note like "deceased" on her profile. (yes, Monokuma could've lied, but again, there is never a mention about real life Chiaki, which would most likely be revealed in the last trial at least). So it feels like the background was created later, for the anime, so it's not incorporated in the game and therefore not reflected in her execution.
I don't like Danganronpa 3 because it contradicts with the games so much, like it genuinely fucks up DR's lore. It's also boring so yeah

I am absolutely in love with kaedes and leons execution. Especially because they're the first in each season and also the fact that they're both innocent. That explains why you hear someone singing something in arabic. Something like "Oh peace be upon you" they were the only ones that had these words in the finish.
I love how Celeste goes out, her execution perfectly fits the game, her character and my sense of humour so it’s definitely my favourite
No way you put virtual junko ABOVE my boy Keebo. Why does no one seem to get it? Keebos execution was not just him dying, it was everything he stood for vanishing. In the end, he made himself into exactly what he always despised and fought against. Something straight out of a Sci-fi film. He turned himself into exactly what he despised in order to save everyone yet no one appreciates him.
Understandable! K11B0 Isn't really the reason I placed it bottom of the list, I mostly just found Tsumugi and Monokuma's death underwhelming, and the ending of V3 fairly underwhelming in general too.

Excellent list! I hadn’t really thought about ranking the executions before, so I was a clean slate for this one and found your reasons for the order of this list very agreeable. Great video topic and execution (wink wink)
Korekiyo’s will always be number 1 for me. Just everything about it makes it 10/10

nah fr i agree, bottom of the list for me too. I do feel conflicted that yeah, it’s pretty underwhelming for the series as a whole. I at least liked how shuichi accepted how, whether he was real or fiction, he validated that his feelings are real, and that’s all that matters to him
Chaiki Nanami is my fav but her execution was just … underwhelming, I guess.

For me, the only reason why Mondo’s is so shocking is that he turns into a food. If he didn’t turn into butter, and instead just a skeleton or something, it’d probably be way less shocking, but because of the fact he got turned into butter, and then also had the little cardboard thing at the end with Monokuma eating pancakes, it hits harder.
I actually met Brian Beacock (Monokuma's English VA) at a convention once and he actually said that Celeste's execution was his favourite.
I like that the meemes have much to do with the next execution

Small funfact!! Kirumi didn’t die from the fall….She died from bleeding cuz the position of her body is different than the crash one!! So she felt all her bones broken…AND STILL WAS ALIVE…so until she bleed she Felt all her bones broken, Her cuts burning and Emotionally Broken too
When I saw the piano in number 3 all I thought was: no.. NO.. WHY? WHY THE PIANO? And turns out I was right😭

Because I’m me and feel the need to be perfect regarding everything Kirumi, allow me to tweak what you said. Most of what you said is right, but you’re missing a few key details.
1. The story has the spider web/thread be sent down to hell for one specific person, someone who’s only good deed was saving a spider from death, hence the thread from hell to heaven sent from the spider.
2. The reason the thread snaps in the story is because of the sinner continuing to be a bad person, they were worried the thread would break and tried to kick the people trying to climb it off. This is another bad deed, the deed causing the thread to break and send everyone back to hell
3. This is just a fun fact, but the chapter title is also an allusion to the story
4.kirumi's execution did not match her ultimate because she already ran from the execution that was planned for her making Monokuma give her a "special punishment" as a back up.
Also, for Peko, she died thinking that she killed Fuyu😢

Gundham being so high is honestly just wrong, as Monokuma’s executions are meant to strike despair in the last moments of the killers’ lives, although with his death, he dies completely hopeful
