- Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong delivered his Budget 2024 speech in parliament on Friday (Feb 16). He announced new measures to help Singaporeans with the rising cost of living, including an additional S$600 in CDC vouchers for all Singaporean households and a 50% rebate in personal income tax, capped at S$200. There was significant suppport announced for businesses as well. And to encourage mid-career workers to upgrade their skills, there will be a S$4,000 top-up in SkillsFuture Credits for people who are 40 and above. READ MORE: cna.asia/4bIjvGg

After 9% gst, If the pap, lee and wong cannot run or govern singapore anymore, and is only capable of increasing the gst, food and drinks prices and cost of living, then i think its time the pap gets voted out of power or evicted from power.
There will always still be the wp, psp and the other oppositions around to voice out and fight for the human rights, needs and liberties of common singaporeans.

Increasing numbers does not resolve anything but in the long term vaguely is presented as the SOLUTION

It won’t matter a lot of the money is behind red tape and specific requirements
Really dislike Lawrence Wong always starts his sentence with ‘I will’ when speaking on behalf of the government. E.g I will invest additional 3 million…., I will top up the fund by 2 million…, I will st aside more fund…” seems like claiming credits and doesn’t show sense of unity…
This budget by LW was cold.
The delivery was cold.
Fiscal support for the budget is minisucal considering Singapore's economy is in deceleration mode..
Recession is inevitable.
The cost for business is ballooning and clinging to survive.
Where are the good paying jobs?
Job retrenchments are at unprecedented levels .
2024 big challenge for Singapore economy and runaway inflation.

Govt must walk the talk and take lead to employ elder workers to work in public sector.

U-Save rebates for Singaporean households - I still do not understand why our government still use the old 5 room formula / method to disqualify for cash out payment . During covid19 pandemic, oil crises and falls of the oil & gas industries , whether you are staying in 3 rooms , 4 rooms or 5 rooms will either loose your jobs or retrenched ! So to stay staying in 5 rooms or buying a 5 rooms has this disadvantage !
