You don't need adj lca's unless you have issues with pinion angle. All they are for really. Other than that, they just keep the rear end housing from spinning. Don't need adjustable ones for that. ADJ Panhard bar is for lowered cars, to re-center the rear end due to the change in geometry. Nothing more.
Indeed. You also can make adjustments for caster as well. And it is very handy when you have changed rear ends, driveshaft lengths due to rear end or transmission differences. And yes the adjustable panhard bar is very handy for making thos slight adjustment to keep the rear end centered since my car is lowered and since I'll have coilovers it may be necessary to make minor adjustments to these parts when adjusting ride height and stiffness for better launching. Qlot of work can go into these items even the smallest adjustments can help hook better and keep the car planted and going straight. Now if it's just a street driven car. No it's not necessary but for everything I'm doing I'm sticking with the adjustable items
@@TonyTheTechnician Oh absolutely!!! I have a 91 Formula i just got, i eventually plan to throw a Ford 9" in her but for now she has the old STOCK 10 BOLT P.O.S... 3.23 Posi disc in her.. When i lower it that ADJ Pan bar is a(MUST HAVE).. Got to center the rear end perfectly due to the rear wishing to push to one side due to the lowering of the body, the LCA's can only take "SO MUCH".... Hence why aftermarkets are a (MUST HAVE) for these cars as you said.. Keep up the great work, i am subscribed man!!
Thank you I appreciate it. And absolutely agree. Ya I need to get this rear end out and get the Ford 9 in mine as well. It's the only big thing left to do on the car. But I figure I might break this rear end first before dropping another 2-3 grand on a rear end lol. I'm thinking about going with a rear end from quick performance. Glad you enjoy the content and thanks for commenting
@@TonyTheTechnician quick performance for the housing/axle package, go 31 spline as it has the most aftermarket available options... Then go on Ebay and buy a prebuilt pumpkin, you can get them off there fully assembled cheaper than you can build them just about. Automatic don't go over 4.11's, 6 speed etc go 4.56's...
@@ICONBADGTA ya that's what I was going to go with for axles and all that. Good to know about to 3rd member on eBay. I'll have to look at them. Any specific brand? And ya I haven't decided on my gears yet
I didn't get to drive it much after I changed them. I ended up doing a complete rebuild of the car. Now I have Founders performance for the rear suspension
In some cases replacing the lower control arms is absolutely necessary, such as installing bolt on subframe connectors. The old bolts tend to want to stick to the old steel sleeves in the bushings, and will start twisting the rubber along with it, ruining the bushing. Getting a lower control arm kit that uses slightly oversized steel sleeves affords a good opportunity for oversized hardened bolts that can be picked up from virtually any hardware store, much cheaper than the control arm hardware kits they'll sell you online that may not fit. For the cost of performance non adjustable lower control arms, there's really no reason not to do this upgrade.
I had to cut my control arms in order to get them off they rusted in place that bad and also had to cut the bolt to get it out the frame.. Mines was a head ache but i have the same control arms
Dale Willis I wouldn’t say a smoother ride. This is to adjust the rear end if you lower the vehicle. Also strengthens everything so you have less movement
I have a Question, you replaced the panhard bar with an adjustable one, what about the other bar above that one..doesn't it get replaced too? If not..Why?
Lyle Johnston its basically there to help support the panhard bar. they both work together to keep anything from moving when taking really hard corners. if all your going to do is go to the drags. alot of people just remove them but if you plan on taking any hard corners or driving it alot on the street they suggest leaving it on.
82-98 all used the exact same panhard bar and rear control arms. now a 3rd gen came with a 1/2" rear sway bar for the RS and a 1" sway bar for the z-28/1LE. 94 year and up they had a 3/4" bar on the z28/SS just a thought for if you decide to fine tune your rear swaybar setup. i used to run a 3/4" rear sway bar on my 91Rs off of a 98ss and the 1-1/4" front 1LE bar. yep they bolt up with zero mods needed. just a straight swap.
cristian bermudez if I remember correctly I installed these after I started the disassemble of my engine. so I haven't drove it yet. basically all of my suspension has been upgraded so when I get the car running again I'll probably have to adjust everything.
TonyTheTechnician be sure to make a video of you adjusting the suspension I have a 89 rs and I'm going to get the panhard bar and the LCA from founders performance check them out I heard they have quality products for a good price 👍🏽
I felt a huge difference when I did mine long ago, mainly cause all the oem arms was rusted in place from the bolts and shit being rusted in place, when I swapped them I had way better ride after
Alex Estrada i buy alot of my parts from amazon or ebay but most of the sellers are big companies like umi, 1aauto, hawks third gen and others like that
Dont wate time and money on that rip out everything narrow the frame 4 link it with a 12 bolt and a locker youll have all the stability in the world for whatever you put under the hood
Shawn Sitaras I’m actually getting an 8.8 from hawks that will support 1000hp and it’s a direct bolt in rear end and I’ll be able to keep all of my suspension upgrades.
pikakho I got the measurements from the oem parts so it should be close but it’s always better to get an alignment after any suspension work. Bc minor adjustments can actually be very big
oi why did you get adjustable pan and arms if your going to keep them stock why not just get the normal arms and pan its cheaper and the same as stock and you could of saved like almost 100 bucks haha and why not put in a 94 rear axels with better calipers and rotors and better brakes its easy stuff THE END ::))
IAMDAVEAMI the adjustments made are just to get you back on the road with a setup as close to aligned as possible until you go to a track or test drive the car you can’t make any adjustments. So why not set it to stock and work from that. Also this rear end isn’t staying but I’m going with the hawks 8.8 fully built rear end. So my new adjustable suspension can be used with that. No sense in spending money on this junk rear end at all.
oi so its a track and street car then so your going to drag it too what about high way and stuff is it good on highways or you going to trailer it over i am ganna get the same thing and swag bars too then work on the front end too whole front end what engine you have in there now or you upgrade it yet THE END ::))
IAMDAVEAMI yes it will be both track and street. It won’t get the best gas mileage but I’ll still drive it on nice weekends. I have a sbc 357 and a turbo 350 transmission.
oi is that like a 355 but alittle bigger what about the stall cnverter anything you ganna do with with or the drive train like shaft and other gearing is that 357 big torqer or more of a speed well sounds like a good setup you ganna run wider tires in back THE END ::))
IAMDAVEAMI ya a 355 is a 350 bores .030 over. A 357 is a 350 bored .040 over so a little bit more power. As far as drive shaft I will be replacing my old one with the aluminum driveshaft and I have a high stall converter. I will be replacing the entire rear end with a fully built one from hawks with probably 3.73 gears. And after that I’ll be putting on some dark star rims with drag tires as well
Those look great! I went with SPOHN ones and they have really held up well.

Octavio Nuno very nice my father and his wife also have a couple 25th anniversary camaros
i ended up running the entire BMR setup in the rear of my 91 RS

tduffy001 thank you!
Makes it ride smooth?! Or better to hit the corners with this upgrade.?
Dale Willis I wouldn’t say a smoother ride. This is to adjust the rear end if you lower the vehicle. Also strengthens everything so you have less movement
Oh okay strengthens the rear. Just bought a 86 with all its original suspension. And being a 30plus year old car. Lsxr swap in the future
Dale Willis very nice 👍🏻

Do you have the specs to tighten that stuff
