I wish they didn't get rid of the dual cameras in the front. The camera app has a good setting for making ultrawide photos out of 9 separate pics, but a 3rd camera would have been way better.

I agree. I have mi 9, using widescreen for almost a year now, and I literally used telephoto ZERO times. But I have full library of wide lens shots. This is a BIG miss on Google's side unfortunately.

My best friend also upgraded from an s8 to the mi 9t and he's in love with it, while I decided to go from an s10+ to a 7 Pro. As I told him, wait for mid or even late 2020 to make a big phone purchase, it will then last you long enough for proper foldable phones to come out which will be the next big (in every way) thing.

I don't get why ultra wide is such a must have. Like panorama works just as well, not to mention it doesn't create as drastic of a fisheye effect either. I get it it's not an ultra wide dedicated lense, but it's almost as good.
@@SonuOfBostonia you're stuck with a 21:9 or so aspect ratio when you do a panorama. Also I haven't had a panorama shot that didn't encounter exposure issues. Wide a wide angle, you just push a single button. You don't even have to worry about framing it properly unlike in the panorama.

I'd love to have something working like this because my father's Car which I sometimes use doesn't have Bluetooth. That means that I have to hook my phone up with AUX and therefore can't control it very well while driving. So these gestures would be great for music.

The bezels don't bug me (I don't like super high screen to body ratio phones at all) and the lack of an ultrawide lens is kind of disappointing, but holy crap... the battery on the smaller model is just awful. Google is willing to do everything imaginable to give their phones good battery life except for increasing battery capacity by 10%.
It's almost like Google doesn't want to sell too many phones. They would just rather keep their stock android fanboys in an abusive relationship with an ugly phone.

One of the Galaxy s 10's, they are great and meet pretty much every criteria you can have, while not excelling at anything specific (other than display) I have the Galaxy s10 and I can tell you it's been a great phone, no complaints, and since the Note 10s are already out you can find the S10's way cheaper than they were at launch, and they are always giving away promotions like galaxy buds with an s10 plus or a watch.
@Hamah 75 The main cameras are already so good and take very detailed photos that it makes 2x zoom like on Pixel 4 pointless when you can just zoom in on the main camera and still have lots of detail. I guess it is better for portrait mode but that's also mostly handled with software anyway. On the other hand ultra-wide lenses are uniquely a hardware feature.

Ultra-wide is gimmicky. How many regular users actually require it? 99% of images taken for most users are of the intimate variety (pun intended). Telephoto is definitely more useful, and not a gimmick.

Telephoto is definitely not more important. You can always zoom digitally, or walk closer. But you CAN'T make the view wider in any other way. It's the number 1 feature I miss from my curren't phone's camera. I always have to back away until I can't and just have to place the phone against a wall and it's still not good enough. Wide angle is a MUST over telephoto.
3D Touch replaced with haptic touch, headphone jack can be replaced with adapter or Bluetooth headphones like most people have, google just removed the wide front and didn’t replace the feature....
Some of the review units have it properly working like I saw in some other reviews on TH-cam while some like the one Marques got seems to have a few issues.

I'd love to have something working like this because my father's Car which I sometimes use doesn't have Bluetooth. That means that I have to hook my phone up with AUX and therefore can't control it very well while driving. So these gestures would be great for music.

The bezels don't bug me (I don't like super high screen to body ratio phones at all) and the lack of an ultrawide lens is kind of disappointing, but holy crap... the battery on the smaller model is just awful. Google is willing to do everything imaginable to give their phones good battery life except for increasing battery capacity by 10%.
It's almost like Google doesn't want to sell too many phones. They would just rather keep their stock android fanboys in an abusive relationship with an ugly phone.

One of the Galaxy s 10's, they are great and meet pretty much every criteria you can have, while not excelling at anything specific (other than display) I have the Galaxy s10 and I can tell you it's been a great phone, no complaints, and since the Note 10s are already out you can find the S10's way cheaper than they were at launch, and they are always giving away promotions like galaxy buds with an s10 plus or a watch.

@Hamah 75 The main cameras are already so good and take very detailed photos that it makes 2x zoom like on Pixel 4 pointless when you can just zoom in on the main camera and still have lots of detail. I guess it is better for portrait mode but that's also mostly handled with software anyway. On the other hand ultra-wide lenses are uniquely a hardware feature.
Its not about if u need it or not but rather every other flagship has it so this should too. I initially also thought i nevet needed the WA but i find myself using the wa much more often than the tele lens. Its a phone.. We're usually closer to subjects than further

Telephoto is definitely not more important. You can always zoom digitally, or walk closer. But you CAN'T make the view wider in any other way. It's the number 1 feature I miss from my curren't phone's camera. I always have to back away until I can't and just have to place the phone against a wall and it's still not good enough. Wide angle is a MUST over telephoto.
