Just FYI, that personal trainer was totally out of line. Before anyone begins a new fitness regime they should have a health check and an idea of their baseline physical fitness. What if Phil had a restrictive medical condition? It's really dangerous to set someone strenuous workouts without prior knowledge.
I think an important thing for everyone to remember when exercising is, if you're not comfortable, or you feel pain, stop right away and asses the situation. Make sure you can handle the situation. If you continue when you are not ready, you may end up hearting your body more than helping it.
Once I went to the gym and accidentally pulled the panic alarm in the toilet because for some reason my brain thought this red cord was the flush and it played an announcement like 'all available staff members to the female toilet'. So naturally I panicked and ran out of the toilet past a half naked woman who had stuck her head out of the shower and I dived into the nearest disabled toilet and waited there for 20 minutes before going home. I didn't go back to the gym for 4 months and I made sure to never wear the same outfit in case somebody recognised me. I'm still traumatised.
I've done that before! I was visiting my grandma who was in the hospital and I went to the bathroom. I too also thought the red cord was flush and pulled it. Then a flood of nurses came and I was extremely embarrassed.
Sounds like a crappy trainer tbh, he went to hardcore crossfit related workouts without even asking you what you were looking for. He pushed you way too hard and didn't ease you into it. I'd file a complaint to the gym if I were you, you could've gotten seriously hurt from being inexperience. All those workouts are ones people do who have worked out for months.
My thoughts too... I have had bad experiences with trainers who all want to be showing off what they can do instead of actually tailoring exercises for their clients. I had one make me cry and then I couldn't go back to that gym for two years. So stupid.

But he just kept saying, the other parts will get their workout, guess what, they didn't. And he kept pushing us like an idiot. Advice: Totally unrelated, but when you said nauseous, it reminded me of this: if you're ever feeling ill and like you might throw up, then just hum. It's impossible to be sick while humming. Just keep humming, and you'll be fine. ((Don't do it too much, because your body still needs to get rid of what it needs to get rid of, but just do it until you can get to a trash can or a toilet,))

Also, holding your thumb into your fist will make your gag reflex less violent/non-existent depending on the person. It really helps me when I'm nauseous, because I'll start gagging alot so... yeah... more friendly advice I guess?

If you mean burpees, you basically have to do a push up, jump us, do a weird half jumping jack thing, go back down into a plank/push up, and keep repeating

One time during PE in middle school, we were doing this thing where you do jumping jacks for like ten minutes straight, but i had to pee really badly. My PE teacher was really strict and if i stopped doing jumping jacks she'd yell at me and if I left to use the bathroom she'd yell at me too. So every time i did a jumping jack (this is so embarrassing) I peed my pants a little bit, and by the end of the ten minutes, I didn't have to pee anymore. luckily I had an extra pair of shorts in my gym locker.
this video made me so much happier, i admitted my feelings to my best friend after she hadn't talked to me in two months, and now she won't speak to me at all, i'm having one of those moments where i craft about everything that i see because my friend showed me a lot of the things i love. 💔

Hey Phil, I think you could have reactive hypoglycemia (your blood sugar can get low). I have it, and I get dizzy, pale, and lightheaded while exercising, too. It could also be why you have such a craving for sugary foods to bring your energy back up. It wouldn't hurt to get a glucose tolerance test.

well in my gym class ( I'm in 6th grade) there was a thing we did as a punishment called a burpee ladder. first we started out doing 18 burpees in a row, the 1 squat, then 17 burpees and 2 squats, 16 and 3, so on, and if he caught you not doing one you would have to start over... my friend and I almost fell down 2 flights of stairs cuz we were so sore, BUT WE GOT SWOLE AND DOUCHE! jk if someone touched our arm there is no skin or muscle protecting it so we would just break. in half.

Hey Phil, I think you could have reactive hypoglycemia (your blood sugar can get low). I have it, and I get dizzy, pale, and lightheaded while exercising, too. It could also be why you have such a craving for sugary foods to bring your energy back up. It wouldn't hurt to get a glucose tolerance test.

well in my gym class ( I'm in 6th grade) there was a thing we did as a punishment called a burpee ladder. first we started out doing 18 burpees in a row, the 1 squat, then 17 burpees and 2 squats, 16 and 3, so on, and if he caught you not doing one you would have to start over... my friend and I almost fell down 2 flights of stairs cuz we were so sore, BUT WE GOT SWOLE AND DOUCHE! jk if someone touched our arm there is no skin or muscle protecting it so we would just break. in half.

TheOriginalPotato - I just love the way it sounds!! I guess you could also say it identifies your roots very clearly. Especially coming from where I do in the US, Washington state, we have basically no accent (non-Americans would just say it's an American accent, but it's the kind that no one can really identify as coming from one place...tons of people from all over the country also have this same "accent"). So the idea of having *any* accent is appealing, but especially one that sounds as cool as a British accent!! 💚
