Hi Thanks for watching my videos. As when all the delta values become postive , solution is called optimal. Now steps for how to write the answer : 1). As the values of variable which are present in objective function only those variable values we have to write. 2). As in this question we have two variables , x1 and x2. 3). As x1 is not present in the column of basic variable so we take it's value as zero. 4). X2 variable is present in column of basic variable so , it's value will be equal to the value written below the xB column and it is infront of that variable. 5). In given questions as two variables are present in the basic variable column. S1 and x2 , we only write x2 Value and it is x2= 2 ( as 2 is written below xB and parallel to x2). As per ur question U have asked why we consider S1/x2 ? So, while finding the minimum ratio in case of degeneracy in simplex method we consider this formula: ( elements of first column of unit matrix /corresponding elements of key column) If minimum ratio is not unique again then we go for this formula: (Elements of second column of unit matrix/ corresponding elements of key column). Answer for your query: In each constraint , we can add one slack variable to convert it into equation ( if constraint possess less than sign) In given question above we have two constraints and each of less then sign so we add one - one slack variable in each constraint.
