incredibly well explained and insightlful. as a photographer getting into videography this is superb concise learnings. would love to know more around efficient worklows for getting projects out. folder/asset management. templatizing steps i use over and over etc.
Thanks so much for the kind words! Please have a look at my course: colorgradinginsights.thinkific.com/pages/master-color-grading-davinci-resolve I hope you’ll find something interesting there!
@@colorgradinginsights thanks. But I have some doubts because when doing the CST, you use the last node, to preserve all the dynamic range. If you use the color managed, you will not loose? Its the same that do on the first node, or not?
Spectacular how you do color grading in a short time and in a simple way, we learn a lot from you, if you can imitate some color grading from some famous movies that would be great, thanks for your content!!! 👍👍👍
I am premiere user but I have DR studio not happy in editing side of soft ware is their any easy way to import premier project rather than xml for grading
Unfortunately not really! The only other thing you could do would be to export a high res final version of your video and then cut it back in Resolve for grading.
I dont really get it! At 2:36 you don‘t set the output Color Space (use Timeline). Where you or I have to set the Output Color Space when not in the CST node? Thank you
Could someone answer my question? I dont really get it! At 2:36 she don‘t set the output Color Space (she use Timeline). Where I have to set the Output Color Space when not in the CST node?
nice video, i would have also expanded the width after selecting red preset to grasp more of warmer regions, this will help bring more of colour contrast in a very subtle way. i totally loved the way how you made this video very understandable .. thank you :)
In my humble experience, carrying out color grading on a mobile phone is very risky. To carry out color grading, a monitor screen is recommended, where you can correctly visualize the subtle changes that are applied.
What you stated at 04:48 contradicts the DaVinci Resolve 18.1 Reference Manual dated October 2022, page 3073: "The adjustments made by all nodes that are connected to a Parallel Mixer are combined equally, regardless of which nodes are highest."
Can you do a CST /Color grade for a smartphone s23 ultra using filmic pro logv3...if possible
Thanks

When I try to setup this node tree, the look of my nodes vary from one to the other?
What do you mean?
Awesome! If you have braw files you make the same procedure or you transform to rec709 in the raw tab?
Do color management! Have a look at my latest tutorial!
@@colorgradinginsights thanks. But I have some doubts because when doing the CST, you use the last node, to preserve all the dynamic range. If you use the color managed, you will not loose? Its the same that do on the first node, or not?

Thank you, now my slog 2 looks better and less noisy
If you have DR studio there’s a great noise reduction tool!
Very cool! Thanks!
No problem!
thank you for your knowlegde
You’re welcome!

Did you use color management?
No, just csts
I dont really get it! At 2:36 you don‘t set the output Color Space (use Timeline). Where you or I have to set the Output Color Space when not in the CST node?

@wahyuananda9598 can you send me a screenshot what settings u use then in color management?
@wahyuanandaaacan u help me?
Could someone answer my question? I dont really get it!

Please!!!
Can someone answer my question?
@wahyuanandaaawhat u mean?
@wahyuanandaaa but she replied me she didn‘t use color managment. Do u use it like in this workflow?
Good job. In the noise reduction node, I can't get as far as you because the footage gets very ugly, sometimes I can't get past 10. Greetings!
Yeah with the footage with less dynamic range you may get some banding! But it’s ok! Glad you like my videos!
@@colorgradinginsights Yes, it makes a lot of sense, I mainly use drone cameras with small sensors. Thank you very much for answering!

It’s a layer mixer not a parallel mixer
@@colorgradinginsights Page 3074 refers - thanks for the lesson :)

Ok it’s not beginner friendly. 😅I don’t even know how to add node.
