    very nice Tom enjoy the series. How bout a murdich minnow as part of the tying series a very good all around fly (fresh, warm water, and saltwater). see you next time.

      I read his NYT obit., He survived exposure to anthrax while he was in the Army. The only known person to survive it.

    Do you guys use these for anything other than tarpon?

      Deceivers work for lots of species including barracuda, musky, bass, trout, etc....it is all based on size of fly relative to baitfish.

      Easy enough to tie you can risk throwing it into the heavy cover. Or you can add a wire weed guard like Larry Dahlberg uses.

      It's upside down when tieing material to the bottom of the fly; right side up for material on top.
