In fact their company was on the verge of bankruptcy when they were all starting but their hard work, dedication to writing their own songs and contributing to every album (they are all credited by music associations too its not just writing a verse here and there), and popularity are what made the company what it is today. They dropped three upbeat all English songs to cheer up Army during Covid: "Dynamite", "Butter", and "Permission to Dance". They write a lot of their own music along with in-house songwriters, but since they wanted all English songs, they were mostly written by U.S. and British songwriters except RM co-wrote "Butter" with seven other songwriters. Sometimes they're given songs like Butter and the rapline (RM, SUGA and j-hope) write their own lyrics, but overall they do write the majority of their songs. They are all currently doing solo work as they are taking a break from group activities to serve in the military (mandatory in South Korea). Two members are already serving, Suga is next to go and the rest will follow…the plan to reunite in 2025 when they have all returned.

BTS is my favourite group! There are 7 members, 3 rappers, 4 vocalists and they all dance, although there are main dancers. They started out in 2013 as a hip-hop group and got a lot of hate. Yeah, they write their songs with other writers, so over 90% of their songs is written by them. The main authors are RM, Suga and J-HOPE. "Butter" and "dynamite" were everywhere on tiktok, radio, stores... "Dynamite" was 1# on billboard hot 100 for 3 weeks in 2020 and "butter" was 1# on hot 100 for 10 weeks in 2021. They won the artist of the year at the 2021 AMAs, they performed "dynamite" in 2021 and "BUTTER" in 2022 at the GRAMMYs. They will return in 2025 or 2026 after their military service. They're doing solo projects during this period.

You've probably heard it on a Samsung or McDonalds commercial. Also CURRENTLY they are doing solo MUSIC but they are still a group! This is only temporary until 2025 since the members are leaving 1 by 1 for the required military service of korean males. (All korean male citizens are required to serve in the military by the age of 30). And yes, they write their own music and produce their own beats (not by themselves ofc) but the majority of their music is by themselves!
