  • Forming one’s conscience is critically important and a vital part of our Catholic faith. You have the obligation to inform your conscience but, as St. Thomas Aquinas said, you are also obligated to follow your conscience even when it is in error. Father Thaddaeus Lancton, MIC, explains the hows and whys and notes the importance of education and good judgment. Then, in honor of the feast day of St. Padre Pio on Sept. 23, hear from Vera Marie Calandra, director of the National Center for Padre Pio in Barto, Pennsylvania, who experienced healing as a baby from Padre Pio himself.
Watch Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, and the Marian Fathers and Brothers from the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy on our weekly show, "Living Divine Mercy," airing on EWTN every Wednesday at 6:30 pm ET, with an encore presentation on Mondays at 9:00 am ET. Through teaching segments, Bible and St. Faustina Diary excerpts, as well as real-life examples of people who are living Divine Mercy in their lives, you will learn why Jesus said Divine Mercy is mankind's last hope of salvation! Ep. 158: Forming One's Conscience with Padre Pio

Thank-you for the endless work done for God's people. Padre Pio is of the most inspirational figures of the 20th Century and it's vitally imperative for generations living at this time, many lost and trapped in the variety of confusions emplaced by the devil, to remember God's Great Saints and what they suffer for all of us to bring reconciliation to Him for all.

I worked for Harry and Vera Calandra at their Italian Deli called Marion's in Norristown, Pennsylvania, across from Holy Saviour Church.
A wonderful family, and I thoroughly enjoyed working for them. Godly people.

Fr Chris, I love the updated opening format, especially the photo of you, Father Chris holding the baby in Ireland. Thank you Father Thaddaeus for your powerful explanation of forming our conscience. It reminds me of the lesson we were taught:
    THOUGHTS become our words
Our WORDS become our ACTIONS. Thank you so much for the reminder that it’s about what we do that matters in having a well formed conscience. I hope one lesson that stuck with my children is “you don’t always have to want to do what’s right, you just have to do right.” I should pull my CCC off the bookshelf and make it my coffee table book!
I got chills witnessing the interview of Vera Calandra as she recounted her miraculous healing and mystical encounter with Saint Pio. AMAZING.
Thank you for adding the great conclusion segment by Father Joe and his translation from the original Italian 🇮🇹 of the famous quote “Pray, Hope and Don’t worry”. It makes even more sense that if we are praying, it’s more difficult to be preoccupied (preoccupare =worry). Prayer is the best weapon against spiritual warfare.
Congratulations on another fabulous Living Divine Mercy presentation. I could not choose a favourite if I tried.

Jesus, Savior of the world, sanctify your priests and seminarians.
    2. Lord Our God, in order to govern your people you willed to unite yourself to the ministry of priests. Grant them the grace of accepting your holy will so that, in their ministry and in their life, they may seek only your glory. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
    3. O God, give us holy priests to celebrate the Sacrifice of Salvation, to give sinners the consolation of pardon and thirsting souls the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Amen.
    4. Lord, grant us many and holy priests. Amen.
    5. Grant us holy priests to console those who suffer, to remind all that we are brothers, to bless our homes, our work, our fields so that your kingdom may extend to all souls. Amen.
    6. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, grant your Church many and holy priests. Queen of the Apostles, pray for us.

When you hit more, the narrative is grayed out, so it cannot be read
