I was really glad that they had the cast perform this. Since they've performed High School Musical for Disney Night, I wish a couple someday in the future would perform one of the songs in any of the movies. That was some impressive blocking, my favorite part is the inclusion of the DWTS pro Brittany at the end. They had her staged there as a member of the crowd so she could be pulled into it and have it made to look sporadic. The way she got involved for her part, then they had her disappear for the cast bow at the end since she's not in the movie cast is also a great move.
