When people come to us, they are not only telling us they want to live, they want a similar pre-ESRD quality of life. We must find a way. So glad in this case, that we did!

    I'm a CCHt
I see more people of color with ESRD
We all need to take better care of ourselves.
Seeing my patients throughout the week is heartbreaking.
    Prayers go out

Take better care of ourselves??? Kidney disease is greatly diagnosed due to being hereditary ! A person can GET cancer a person can GET kidney disease. Taking care of yourself is not the issue!

      @IAintY0M0mma I work in dialysis
And while that is true in some cases which I've seen also, it is not true in the majority of cases.
Alot of my patients of color that come in have had past drug use that has destroyed their kidneys,
Obesity due to poor eating habits that has caused high blood pressure and diabetes.
Then the diabetes goes uncontrolled for so long it damages the kidneys.
The blood pressure is uncontrolled for so long it can damage the kidneys.
I sit with these people almost 12 hours a day.
      I hear their testimonies.
Please go educate your self just a little but more.
      Have a awesome day.

@IAintY0M0mma also a person, like my grandma who got lung cancer due to smoking cigarettes, can have kidney issues due to the chemotherapy.
The chemo destroys bad and good cells.

My mother has done nun of the causes you listed and has kidney disease. It just happened. Hereditary. So saying “take better care of yourself” is a slap to the face for ppl who did. Be kinder with your words.

Thank you. I'm entering renal failure (kidney function is at 21%). We've not started dialysis yet, but it sounds like that it is not far off. The concept of home treatment is like a light at the end of a tunnel. I hope that should dialysis become necessary that I would be eligible for that option. Thanks again for sharing your experience. John

ohhhhh this is how you get people home LIVING on dialysis. Everyone should have the option and push to go home and perform treatment when they want!! (Hey satellite lets make Michael an advocate and it is 2 for 1 I come with a blind chick!!

I hate these depressing videos about Dialysis. It doesn't uplift at all. Please stop.
