I moved from the south to Liverpool a few months ago, it's a bit rough around the edges in places but the people of Liverpool are some of the nicest most welcoming people I've met.
Just wait lad till you start meeting the rats, lol 😆 don't go to certain shops at certain times lad, stay out of most pubs always drink in the city, lol and never befriend random people, thy come as friends at first, they will soon be using you to mind stashes of drugs. There's a lot of rough areas where you won't last a day lad.

Across the road on Bold Street is a Turkish grill called Elif. It’s full all day and people queue up in the rain in the street it’s that good. Highly recommended.
Big respect to Danny and how he’s always so happy to talk and take pics with his fans. Scouse sounds yummy. Perfect for the weather. I could eat breakfast any time of the day. As a Brit living in San Francisco for many years, it’s lovely to hear Danny’s accent.
So Scouse in Liverpool and Lapskaus in Norway are the 'same' dish with shared origins from sailing ships between the ports (and so in other North European countries linked by maritime trade). The Scouse get their name from the dish :)

"Scouse" is almost an exact replica of a dish called Stovies, its a traditional Scottish dish. Pretty much the same but the consistency is thicker in scotland and you get oatcakes with it as well.

As you can see by the number of people stopping, scousers are more friendly than any other place in the country. I was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford in 1985. I meet a beautiful girl from Liverpool. We laughed at each others accent, her with her scous and me from the midwest in the States. Seeing all the lovely ladies stopping by brought back memories.

On a cold day there is nothing as good as a stew or chilli to warm you up. Now I know what to call the stew my wife makes, beef, taters, carrots, onions, and turnip. Going to ask her to make up a good Scouse for dinner. Since she is English/Welsh she should know the term.

Believe it or not vegan scouse is actually fairly traditional. Known as blind scouse. Not that it was intended as vegan but as an economy dish. Different areas use different meat as well. My nan and our family always use lamb.
It’s always good to know that we everyday working folk appreciate our veggies too many shows seem to show us eating shite meat and getting fat, we love veggies too and we can cook veggies well. Thanks for that❤
Was going to mention blind scouse.. Other half says that they'd have a big pot of it that started on monday, lasted till friday, it'd start with the meat, but got topped up with veggies. Or if you'd not got paid that well, it never had any meat to start with. She cooks it for me, but hates it herself! she'd use neck of lamb or shin beef.

I was down in Liverpool for a week. I am from Dundee. I love the city and the people i met. I had the scouse in the Liverpool cathedral cafe. It tasted great. It looked darker and richer than Maggie mays. I will give Maggie mays a try the next time i visit.
Many of those making "scouse" today are actually just making a stew. The key to real scouse is the use of mashed potato and cooking it till it all homogenises. The one you have there looks quite nice.

Maggie Mays is a great place to get scouse.
Really isn't though. Been there twice for scouse and it was watery, no seasoning, and fuck all meat. Tripadvisor reviews back that up as well.
