It's so sad to see Michael like this, but at the same time it's nice to see how positive he is, and his willingness to fight the disease. I really hope somebody comes up with a cure for Parkinson's Disease in the near future... Or at least come out with a way of drastically slowing the symptoms down anyway until there is a cure. Best wishes to Michael J Fox and everyone else with this disease.

Michael is such a class act. So dignified. When he said it's a privilege to be the face of Parkinsons, it brought tears to my eyes. An amazing man. Ryan looks near to tears himself when he looks at Michael.

I remember the day my father told me he had Parkinson's Disease... it was also the same day my mother informed us she had cancer. It's hard to forget that one-two combo.
I notice all the same symptoms in MJ and it's heartbreaking to watch someone you care for go through it. I sincerely hope they find a cure one day.

I have MS and I feel the same as Michael. I have overall a pretty positive outlook. These diseases teach you to enjoy the simple things in life and not worry about materialism. I value the time I have with my 3yr old daughter. I have found a love in landscape photography which helps me appreciate my surroundings.

Great interview. My husband has had Parkinson's for 10 years. The symptoms were so gradual it was quite a shock to hear that diagnosis. Michael J. Fox is such an inspiration. Being diagnosed at 30 is heartbreaking. Ryan and Michael are both awesome.
Its hard when you finally are diagnosed so you get the meds. Then the next doc says it rained that's why you feel like that.

Poor Mr. Fox. It hurts to see and hear that characteristic voice struggling against his own body.

Ryan Reynolds was born and raised right here in British Columbia, Canada, and Michael was born in Edmonton Alberta, Canada, but his family moved to BC in 1971. I actually went to the same high school (Burnaby Central Secondary School) as Michael did.. They have his pictures all over the walls, it's pretty cool! There is also a theatre named after Michael at (Burnaby South Secondary), which is another high school I attended. :) I love them both! BC TOTALLY ROCKS! :P

My dad had PD, after a 17 year battle, he passed away, it was devastating seeing him suffer in hospital during his final days. Love you dad, you will never suffer again.

Two Canadian legends.
We lost our dad to Parkinson's in February of this year. It is a cruel disease. He went from being able to hunt and fish, play golf, and work 3 gardens to keeping his eye on the clock an hour after him taking his pills to ease the shaking. It is still so fresh of a pain and longing to see him again. The man from before Parkinson. I miss him.

What is it about people from Canada that makes us so emotional? They are just such lovely souls. I haven't met one yet that hasn't been warm, funny or kind. Michael is amazing and I hope he does more chat shows even if he needs a voicebox to speak. World loves him and is rooting for him. Ryan is every where right now and there's a bit of Paul Newman/Clint Eastwood/Brad Pitt about him that you just love to see him again, even if some of his acting rolls are a bit hammy. Same with Jack Nicholas and Morgan Freeman. Just deep and give us lessons in character traits. Bucketlist, I mean just watch. Laughing and crying at same time but it stays with you.

2 excellent Canadian actors love all who did back to the future 1 2 3 . I grew up with family ties loved the show. Plus I am pretty sure he is a military brat, that’s why you are so resilient. I have completed 22 years of Army and proud of it, It is very thoughtful and generous for Ryan and Michael to support and make progress on maybe finding a cure. I admire both of you for your career and the causes you support.

There IS Shame in Illness, when your friends become scared of you due to it. When your right to Drive a car gets taken away due to it. When your Employer lets you go due to it. When the Government approves you for Disability status due to it. When Doctors recommend you not have any children due to it. And yet everyone feels they're doing what's best for you.

My Father struggled with Parkinson's Disease and passed away after a long battle. It is such a struggle to slowly watch it take away function. I am in awe of Michael J. Fox and hope and pray a cure or some better methods to treat it are found.

Thank you for all your help. My husband is battling this disease (early stages) and I know that I have to brace myself for what's to come. I want to support him and be his helpmate thru out this journey which I imagine its not easy but with our faith in God we know we will move forward. Praying for a cure.

Hi i have Parkinsons i was diagnosed in 2004, about 3 years before that my toe used to twitch then my leg tremored then a year later my arm that's when i went to the doctors. Its great to see Michael, KEEP UP THE FIGHT MICHAEL
I was born in 1970 and remember all of the shows that began in the 1980's. Family Ties, Magnum P. I, Miami Vice, etc.... . Family Ties was my favorite and I remember Michael was a relatively unknown in 1982. By July 1985 with the release of BTF and a month or two later Teen Wolf, Michael was on top of the world. He was and is today one of the greatest human begins on Planet Earth. He didn't act like he was better than anybody else which is a major plus in my book and while he went through his 80's fame days and continued success in the 90's and beyond he always seemed as the type of guy you would want to have dinner with. Watching in 2017 interviews of Mike and remembering everything he did from Class of 1984 and beyond, he is the most inspirational person I have ever listened to in my lifetime. Period. Mike, I know you are not going to read this, however I just wanted to say, Thank You and if there is a God, he couldn't do any better when he created you.

What? Michael and Ryan working together....what a pair! I'm sure when those two are together there is no shortage of laughter! I couldn't believe that Michael and his foundation have raised $750M for research relating to Parkinson disease. He has that certain charisma about him where you know nothing is going to get him down. And now he has Ryan on board for the cause trying to help his father who also has Parkinsons disease. I have loved these two very handsome guys from their early days of Family Ties and Two Guys, A Girl and A Pizza Place and I have continued to love them both; they are still my favorite two actors. I pray that one day with the added research that is now being conducted by the foundation they will find a cure for this disease sooner then later! God bless you both and your families along with everyone associated with finding a cure.

I currently have essential tremors which is similar to Parkinson's disease but I also have RA the RA is the worst but I have gotten use to the pain of RA the tremors get worse as I get older.
